Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Wendy Uribe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Wendy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
We all have a gift, and I’m just now discovering who God created me to be. First and foremost, I want to honor my spiritual parents at SpiritLife Church. It was through their prayers that a spark was ignited in me—a sudden urge to design, paint, and dream up new business ideas. One day, I attended a vision board event with ReignxRevolution, and it was a life-changing experience. On my board, I placed a picture of New York and a runway design, believing in faith that it would one day come to pass. And when I tell you it manifested—God is truly great. His promises are yes and amen.
Skyler, the founder of ReignxRevolution, later presented me with a board of designs they were inspired by. I prayed over it and began creating three pieces. To my amazement, one of those designs made it to New York Fashion Week. I was beyond honored to be part of it. I am so grateful to God for placing Skyler and Geneva in my life—for seeing something in me that I didn’t even recognize in myself. I had no formal fashion design training, but by God’s grace, I was able to create at that level.
I absolutely love creating—especially painting—and each of my garments tells a story. If anyone is interested in purchasing my designs, you can visit reignxrevolution.com. My dream is to one day showcase my work at Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks. By God’s grace, I will continue designing and creating. All glory to Him. Always put God first, and everything else will be added.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started designing costumes for my children so they could win first place at their school, and they did—every single year. It was such a joy to see them succeed, and I poured my creativity into it. Eventually, I designed my daughter’s quinceañera dress, made T-shirts, and now I paint clothes with meaningful messages. Growing up, I was abandoned as a child and never really had a childhood of my own, which led me to abandon myself. I lost sight of what it meant to dream; my mind was focused on working, going to school, and having a family. While those things are valuable, I realized they weren’t enough in today’s world. I am barely starting to tap into who I truly am, and only now, through surrendering everything to God, am I beginning to discover my purpose. For greater is He who is in me. I’ve made countless mistakes along the way, but the greatest decision I ever made was surrendering my life to Christ. I always tell myself, “If it fears you, push through it.” With God, I can do all things.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Everything you go through is meant to teach you to be greater. During COVID, I had to close my T-shirt business, and it was a tough decision. I made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I learned so much through it. Staying focused, keeping a positive attitude, and trusting that God had something better for me helped me get through it. I know now that everything works out for my good, even when it doesn’t seem like it at the time.
Have you ever had to pivot?
After all the challenges we’ve faced, my husband has been my greatest support, and now, together, we are pivoting to start our own electrical company.
