Wendy, appreciate you joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
We are a professional company. The team never discusses the details of our clients: name/company, the services used, or when they are traveling and away from home.
Transparency is key! We find that our private client portal system provides that. Clients can log on 24/7 to request a task(s), view activity reports from completed tasks, and available hours. Our clients appreciate the access anywhere, at anytime.
Lastly, we carry our own insurance. Our team is fully covered, and that means you are too.


As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Our personal concierge team is here to offer assistance with a wide range of services. From day-to-day errands, house management: schedule appointments and wait for repairmen/technicians, painters, utilities or deliveries, to personal shopping, managing projects and decorating for the holidays.
We do not have weekly or monthly memberships fees. Client prepay for hourly packages and use the time as requested. For example, a client might have 4-hours banked in their account, and the time is only deducted when they request a task.
Southlake Concierge applies quality and efficiency to every job. Our clients not only use the services to alleviate their personal demands, they also turn over a variety of business errands and tasks as well.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
When I started developing Southlake Concierge in 2018, honestly, I didn’t have a long-term growth plan. I incorporated and obtained insurance as more of personal protection for a side-hustle. I had been a stay-at-home mom for several years, but have been asked by friends to help with planning their get-togethers, happy hours and parties at home. When you’re a busy professional who loves to entertain, you need help. I was happy to plan the menu, shop and find the right vendors for the gathering. This same pattern repeated itself once we relocated to Southlake in 2017. Many of my friends would ask if they could refer me to their friends that worked and needed assistance. It became clear that this side-hustle would become a business.
The initial business plan included the obvious: identifying my target market, growing the client list and building name recognition. About six-months in, I quickly achieved the milestones put into place and started to realize this was becoming a small business rather than a side-hustle. I set goals for each year of business and have met each one. For example, one of my goals for year two was to add team members to the team, which I did. We have grown every year thanks to client referrals, networking, featured articles with local publications and social media.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I get asked all the time, “what is a personal concierge?” I decided to use social media as a way to share the services we offer and insight into the types of daily tasks we do for our clients.
Instagram and Facebook has been an effective way to share a typical day or behind the scenes of our personal concierge team. Posts highlight the errands that we do, personal shopping, home management or special projects, decorating for Christmas and more. We receive requests for an exact copy of a gift basket that they’ve seen on social media or requesting our services after discovering all the various things we do for our clients. Again, we have found using social media to educate our audience about what a personal concierge does has been an effective way to grow!
