We recently connected with Wendy Jones and have shared our conversation below.
Wendy, appreciate you joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
If you are appealing to everyone, you are appealing to no one. For the longest time, that was my challenge. I had the experience, the heart, and the drive to help people, but I was casting too wide a net. I knew I had the potential to impact lives, yet my message wasn’t clear enough to truly resonate with anyone. Deep down, I realized that my hesitation to be specific wasn’t about strategy—it was about fear. A fear of sharing my own story. A fear of upsetting or hurting people along the way, and that fear kept me from stepping into my power and serving and creating more healing in the world.
The turning point came when I embraced that fear and decided to split my business into two. I had to recognize that I was trying to speak to two very different audiences, and in doing so, I wasn’t truly connecting with either one. The moment I got over the fear of being too much or saying the wrong thing, clarity followed. My purpose crystallized.
Now, I stand with two distinct yet deeply meaningful missions. The first is Be Better Life, which is dedicated to athletes looking to build not only technical mastery but the social and emotional resilience necessary to sustain long-term success without burning out. These athletes are passionate, driven, and skilled, but they need more than drills and practice to reach their highest potential—they need a foundation of emotional well-being that can support them at every level. Along with my long time friend, business partner and tremendous coach, Ashley Clark, we are using the tenets of Human Design to help athletes and coaches understand themselves better to raise the level of their game on and off the court. It’s a true gift to work together on this heart centered project.
The second business became The Healing Home and was created for single moms or core parents who, post-divorce, are trying to heal their nervous systems and break generational cycles of trauma. These women (and men) are the cycle breakers, the healers, and the ones determined to create a new legacy of health and wholeness for themselves and their children. They are rewriting their stories and setting a new path for future generations, and I am honored to walk alongside them.
This journey has taught me that when we have the courage to be clear, we can give our best to those who need us. I’m now able to fully connect with each of my core audiences, bringing energy, compassion, and strength to our work together. The ripple effect of this work is powerful—not just for my clients but for me as well. It allows me to support my family, use my gifts and talents, and do my part to make the world a better place, one story at a time.

Wendy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My journey into the health and wellness industry wasn’t just a professional decision—it was personal, deeply personal. As I watched my family, and especially my children, navigate their own emotional and physical struggles, I began to see a pattern. There was a heaviness we carried, an invisible weight that seemed to grow heavier with each generation. The more I paid attention, the more I realized that it wasn’t just isolated incidents of stress or anxiety; it was the manifestation of unresolved generational trauma and mental health struggles that had never been addressed.
As a mother raising athletic, sensitive kids, I knew that I had to take action. I saw how their sensitivity, combined with the pressures of the world, could either become their greatest strength or their deepest challenge. And as much as I wanted to protect them from the hardships of life, I knew that shielding them wasn’t enough. If I didn’t start addressing the root cause of the physical, emotional, and spiritual symptoms we were feeling, these patterns of broken relationships, inner conflict, and struggles would continue to echo through their lives—and into future generations.
I wanted better for my kids. I wanted them to know what true healing felt like, to break free from the cycles that had weighed us down. But more than that, I wanted to create a ripple effect with my newfound understanding, to help others who might be trapped in similar patterns of pain, confusion, and disconnection. The journey into health and wellness was my way of not only healing my family but offering hope and tools for others to heal theirs. It’s a mission rooted in love, for my children and for everyone who seeks to break free and build a better, more fulfilling life.
Through my business Be Better Life, we offer Human Design coaching and workshops for coaches and athletes to enhance their self awareness and ability to connect with others to create sustainable high performance that allows them rise through whatever level of the game they are meant to achieve and avoid the burnout that is far too prevalent these days.
Through my business The Healing Home, I offer energy healing and trauma informed coaching services using Human Design, somatic coaching and sound healing practices to help single mom’s and any core parent who has a heart to break the generational trauma cycle for their family going forward. These services are available both in home and via zoom. For additional details on either business services be sure to check out our websites.
And lastly, through my business Empower Her Craft, I help women in transition onboard with an amazing platform called Launch You. The very same platform that gave me clarity and helped me create the vision and execution for my business’s. My hope here is to always be a guide for my clients to use their gifts and talents and create a business that allows them to be financially secure and live to work instead of working to live.
The greatest take away I can give my clients is the greater energy and gratitude we find for our lives when we are brave enough to keep moving forward in the face of adversity. It is the very thing I am most proud of in my own life and the lives of my children and hope that I can share the energy and tools to be able to pay that forward to the people I am able to work with to unlock their own self healing abilities.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Eight years ago, my life was turned upside down. After 20 years of marriage, just three years after we’d relocated to Southern California, my husband left. The life I had known, the stability I thought I had, was gone. I was left not only to pick up the pieces of my broken heart but also to help my kids navigate their own pain, all while trying to figure out how to rebuild myself from the ground up.
But it didn’t happen overnight. Healing is never a straight path. Over the years, I made countless missteps, sometimes feeling like I was moving backward more than forward. I had to confront old wounds, not just from my marriage but from my past, to truly understand how my patterns of codependency had shaped the relationships I attracted. It wasn’t just about healing from the divorce—it was about rewiring the parts of me that had allowed unhealthy dynamics to flourish in the first place.
The more I learned, the more I realized that healing isn’t just a personal journey. It impacts the collective family nervous system that reaches out into the world. We all create a ripple effect. I had to honor my nervous system, give myself permission to rest, and allow the space needed to process the deep-rooted pain that had accumulated over the years. In doing so, I began to see that true healing required not just time but the courage to change, to break old patterns, and to rebuild on a foundation of self-worth.
Today, I stand more resilient than I ever thought possible. I’m optimistic about the future, knowing that while life doesn’t stop offering challenges, I am better equipped to meet them with grace and strength. Most days, I believe wholeheartedly that I have what it takes to meet the moment, whatever it brings. I no longer see life as something happening to me but something happening for me. And when things feel uncertain or difficult, I remind myself: if it’s not okay right now, it’s not over yet and I’m grateful for my path for the ways that it helps me grow and serve my clients.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I met Ashley Clark during a pivotal season in both of our lives. She was coaching my kids—Lauren at 15’s and Luke at 13’s—in the same season, and from the start, I saw something special in her. Even though she was young, her care for the kids went far beyond their performance on the court. She genuinely cared about their growth as people, the individuals they were becoming, and that drew me in immediately. It was clear that she had an innate ability to nurture not just athletes, but young souls, and that stuck with me.
I always had this sense that there was more to her than her current role could express, a potential that couldn’t fully bloom within the confines of where she was. So, when I opened a gym with some business partners—who I’m no longer associated with—my one non-negotiable was that Ashley had to be part of it as a coach. I knew she was the kind of person who would make a lasting impact, and I watched her do just that. She helped athletes not only become better in their craft but also more grounded and confident as people.
Years later, when I had the courage to start Be Better Life, I was thrilled when Ashley wanted to join me on this new adventure. It felt like a full-circle moment, like this was the opportunity I had always seen for her to truly shine. After a few years of figuring things out together, I can honestly say that I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Ashley has that rare “let’s figure it out” attitude, coupled with a relentless work ethic. In an entrepreneurial venture, there’s nothing more valuable than that.
Our friendship, and our ability to laugh through the craziness of startup life, is the icing on the cake. Building something meaningful with someone who shares not only your vision but also your values has been an absolute gift. I am so grateful for this partnership, knowing that together, we’re creating something that reflects the heart and soul we both bring to the table.
