Wedly, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Success can mean different things to different people, as it is subjective and can be defined based on individual goals and values. However, some qualities and habits are commonly associated with achieving success. There are a few factors that can contribute to success. Success often starts with having a clear vision and specific goals. Setting meaningful and achievable objectives allows individuals to focus their efforts and measure their progress. Success is only achieved by facing challenges and obstacles. My achievements took time to be done. Being persistent and resilient in the face of setbacks allows individuals to overcome difficulties, learn from failures, and keep moving forward. Successful individuals have a growth mindset and are committed to continuous learning and self-improvement. I constantly seek out new knowledge, develop new skills, and adapt to changing circumstances to stay ahead. Success is typically the result of hard work, dedication, and discipline. I contribute to achieving desired outcomes by putting in the necessary effort, consistent practice, and maintaining a solid work ethic. Often, I find myself involved in taking calculated risks and being willing to step outside of my comfort zone. It also requires learning from failures and using them as opportunities for growth and improvement. I have mastered building meaningful relationships, collaborating with others, and leveraging collective knowledge and resources. Networking, teamwork, and practical communication skills are essential in my life and work. I can adapt to changing circumstances, embrace new technologies and ideas, and adjust plans. Being flexible and open-minded can help me navigate challenges and seize opportunities. Finding and pursuing my passion and aligning it with a sense of purpose can be a driving force behind achieving success. When individuals are genuinely passionate about their work, it fuels their motivation, inspires perseverance, and fosters fulfillment. It’s important to note that success varies from person to person. I define what success means to me and identify the qualities and actions most relevant to my personal and professional goals.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Absolutely, there are certain aspects of a creative journey that non-creatives may struggle to fully understand. Creativity often involves navigating uncertainty and taking risks. Non-creatives may find it challenging to comprehend the willingness to pursue a path with no guaranteed outcomes or financial stability. We are often driven by the passion for their craft and the desire to express themselves, even if it means facing ambiguity along the way. We face regular feedback, criticism, and rejection. Non-creatives may not fully grasp the emotional impact these experiences can have. It takes resilience to handle criticism constructively, learn from it, and remain motivated to keep creating despite setbacks. The creative journey can often be a solitary one, as there may be long hours spent alone, working on projects or honing skills. Non-creatives may have difficulty understanding the need for solitude and the importance of uninterrupted time for reflection and creative flow. We often draw inspiration from sources that may seem unconventional to non-creatives. They may find inspiration in unexpected places, such as nature, everyday experiences, or abstract ideas. Non-creatives may struggle to understand how these sources can fuel creativity and lead to innovative ideas and concepts. I sometimes face pressure to pursue more ‘practical’ career paths. Non-creatives may not comprehend the internal struggle creatives face when deciding between following their passion or conforming to societal expectations. I often prioritize the pursuit of personal fulfillment and happiness over conventional norms. I am continuously evolving, experimenting, and seeking new ways to express myself. Non-creatives may not realize the continuous learning and self-improvement required to stay relevant and push boundaries in a creative field. I invest significant emotional energy into their projects. Non-creatives may fail to understand the deep attachment creatives can develop towards their work. The emotional investment goes beyond the time and effort spent, making it hard for non-creatives to comprehend the profound impact of creative outputs on the creators themselves. By understanding these aspects of a creative journey, non-creatives can develop empathy and appreciation for the challenges, sacrifices, and fulfillment that come with pursuing a creative path. This understanding can foster better support, collaboration, and respect for the creative endeavors of others.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a fashion creative, especially in styling, is the opportunity to influence and transform how people present themselves to the world, boosting their confidence and self-expression. As a fashion stylist, I have the power to help individuals discover their unique style and express their personality through clothing and accessories. By understanding their preferences, body shape, and fashion goals, I can guide them in curating outfits that make them feel confident, comfortable, and empowered. Styling is an art form combining various elements such as colors, textures, patterns, and silhouettes to create a cohesive and visually appealing narrative. The ability to conceptualize and bring these stories to life through styling can be advantageous, as it allows me to communicate emotions and tell stories without words. Fashion is a collaborative industry, and as a stylist, I can work with other creative professionals like photographers, models, makeup artists, and designers. This collaboration elevates the outcome and allows me to learn from and be inspired by others in the industry, fostering a sense of community and growth. Fashion is constantly evolving, with new trends and styles emerging regularly. A rewarding aspect of being a fashion creative is the ability to stay updated with these trends and adapt them to suit your client’s unique personalities and preferences. Being able to help individuals navigate the ever-changing fashion landscape and find their authentic style is a fulfilling and dynamic process. The work of a fashion creative, including stylists, can have a profound impact on individuals. When someone is great about my appearance, it can positively impact various areas of my life, including my personal and professional relationships. Fashion styling allows for personal expression and creativity. As a fashion creative, I can experiment with different styles, trends, and aesthetics, infusing my unique perspective into my work. This freedom to explore and create can be gratifying, as it allows me to evolve as an artist and develop my distinct style continuously.
