Wayne, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.

Benchmark PWM provides investment plan execution, financial planning, and trust services to clients. The belief that every client deserves the best possible option to meet their financial planning needs is why I started this business. Primarily seeking to help families preserve, grow, give and protect their wealth, •For Benchmark PWM, relationships are everything. We address unique and complex needs for clients and deliver the best service customized to work for clients’ benefit and financial peace of mind. We also take a unique approach to alternative investing and believe we are leaders in the industry in the alternative asset space. We bring institutional level investing to the “retail” high net worth client.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?

I believe that to maintain focus and live a fulfilled life, a person should focus on five key areas. I have coined this “The 5 F’s.” Faith. Family. Friends. Fitness. Finance. These are the motivators that drive me to constantly pursue excellence and continue to progress to be a better husband, father, friend, and mentor every day. I wake every day and ask God to make me the man He created me to be. I have been an advisor to many, helping to shape their thinking and reframe the “why” of what they do. I have been in the investment advisory business for twenty four years and consider my clients family. I have a love for the University of Texas, my family and work. I worked for Congressman Sam Johnson in Washington DC and that really helped form my character as I learned how he lived a life of respect and ethics.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Life is never smooth, but turbulence is what builds character. In our business, you have to navigate volatile markets and life-changing events for clients. We must be a rock for our clients, unwavering in our convictions, as well as a force working for them when they are in need. It takes vision, commitment, and endurance to keep building and to keep evolving. Firms change, markets expand and implode, but we endure by always doing what is right. Maybe we need “turbulence” to help us develop a sense of direction so that we may ultimately reach the destination intended for us in life!

I have long looked up to the Barnett family. They lead Benchmark Bank with trust, integrity, respect and family. As a long time customer of the Bank, I knew they had built the right culture to build a Private Wealth platform on.
