We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful WaviLevato . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with WaviLevato below.
WaviLevato , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I have most definitely taken a lot of risk when it comes to me being a artist. Whether it’s financial, time, etc. I’ve had some good outcomes and some bad outcomes out of some of the risk I’ve taken hell, sometimes I don’t get nothing at all but it’s just something about knowing your willing to put it all on the line to succeed at something you love. I’ve quit jobs to pursue my dream and sometimes even put up my last dollar just to buy studio equipment to be able to record myself and learn different softwares. My senior year of high school, I decided to do online classes instead of in person classes so I could focus and lock in on what I wanted to do music wise.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For the ones who haven’t heard of me before this Interview, I’m WaviLevato a upcoming recording artist coming out of the south side of Atlanta, Georgia . I own my own record label called Ruthville Records that I started back in 2020 with the goal of bringing in local and underground artist, producers, songwriters, etc. together and be able to help shine light on those who are overlooked by others. I recently signed a distribution deal with Work Grind Hustle and with that deal I’m pretty much able to bring on whoever I feel like deserves a opportunity to be heard a long side with me and other artist who are already apart of Ruthville. Me getting that deal has to be one of my proudest moments so far because it showed me how far I have came and how much I have developed as a artist to where now I’m in control of my own career.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect for me is being able to express myself and other around me who may not be able to express themselves the right way or to others so I feel like that where I come in at. Like I say all the time anything I say or talk about within my music is either something I’ve seen, been around, heard , or did or someone around me has did but just aren’t able to verbally express it themselves. I look at music like some may look at therapy. When I feel like no one else wanna hear my problems I’ll lock myself in the studio and will talk inside that microphone for hours upon hours.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My main goal is to be able to put the people around me such as family, friends and business partners in a better position then what we are currently in. I have 8 other siblings 4 brothers 4 sisters 7 nieces and nephews so me knowing that I’ll be damned if I don’t go hard enough to be able to provide for them if they ever needed me to. I started making music when I was 13 because I knew that if I would’ve continued to play sports I would have had to wait years to potentially see the NBA or NFL and finally start making some money but that was to long of a wait for me so I found something I loved that helped me stay out of trouble at times and now I’m in a position to where I’m making money off of my craft at just 19 years old.
