When I was growing up in Chicago Illinois I always knew I wanted to be a social worker at 10 years old. It was part of God’s vision for me in helping people. Although My first job after graduating college was at Mercedes Benz , I knew I had to do what I was destined to do and that was a become counselor /social worker. I started working at Job Corps that is a program administered by the United States Department of Labor which offers free education and vocational training to young troubled men and women ages 16 to 24.

Something happened and my plans changed after I was injured in a car accident. When I recovered from the accident a year later, I got married to my husband Dennis Pearson and 2 months later I started working at IBM Corporation. We had 2 daughters , Danielle and Tori within 7 years of our marriage.
After 36 years I retired from IBM, but my passion was to continue to help others in the community. My husband and I started our networking business with Legalshield. This is an online legal service that provides affordable legal coverage for small businesses and individuals. We saw the vision in joining Legalshield 24 years ago while I was still working at IBM to help others have an affordable legal protection that Protects their legal rights. I continued the journey and had the opportunity to collaborate with other entrepreneurs to help families, home-based and Small Businesses get their business set up the right way with our services in Legalshield by obtaining their LLC.

Therefore I created my own brand WDPEARSON Associates LLC.

When COVID happened in 2020 it made me stronger to do more. I networked with other businesses internationally and domestically by creating webinars on Facebook live with other entrepreneurs to help educate and coach others on our businesses to become successful.

I am a coauthor of 2 collaboration books; Audacity to Shine and Impact of One Voice. I share my story on how I survived through abuse, fear, faith and how I was able to triumph through my journey in life. I do mentoring at 2 middle schools in a S.T.A.R Programs to help young girls believe in themselves to become whatever they want to be in life by teaching them positive affirmations.
I am most proud of the journey in my life because when someone tells you can’t do something or you will never be nothing. You have to believe that you are God’s child and you can do anything if you put your mind to it. My story talks about when I was a little girl from Chicago that grew up with so much confusion in my life and how I Triumphed through it all by believing that God had a plan for me and I can do anything that Christ gives you strength. We all have the Audacity to Shine.
