We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Walil Archer. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Walil below.
Alright, Walil thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
As an aspiring actor, every opportunity is meaningful to me, no matter the size of the role or the production. My acting journey has been filled with diverse and rewarding experiences, starting with stage performances such as the hit play My Husband John by McFadden & Whitehead in Philadelphia, PA; And The Beat Goes On in Atlanta, GA; The Judgement in Philadelphia, PA; FIXED in Trenton, NJ; and A Small Candlelight in Philadelphia, PA. I’ve also had the privilege of being involved in television projects, doing background work on The Resident and appearing on popular reality shows like Love & Hip Hop Atlanta (for 4 or more episodes), Married to Medicine, Married to Real Estate, Joseline’s Cabaret, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta. One of my proudest accomplishments was landing a role in the blockbuster film Coming 2 America, where I had the honor of working alongside legends like Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. Each experience has been a stepping stone in my growth as an actor, and I’m excited for what’s to come in my journey.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As an aspiring actor, I view every role and opportunity as a chance to bring stories to life and connect with audiences on a meaningful level. Acting, for me, is about more than just performing; it’s about creating moments that evoke emotion, inspire thought, and leave lasting impressions. My creative journey has been shaped by my experiences in stage plays, background work, and appearances in major productions, where I’ve had the privilege of learning from incredible talent and gaining valuable insight into the art of storytelling. I draw inspiration from real-life experiences, people’s resilience, and the transformative power of film, television, and theater. My mission as an actor is to use my craft to inspire, entertain, and uplift others, embracing every opportunity to grow and refine my skills while working toward making a significant impact in the industry. Each role I take on represents a step closer to fulfilling my purpose of being a voice for compelling stories and powerful narratives.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my audience on social media has been a journey of consistency, authenticity, and intentionality. I started by focusing on creating content that showcased my unique voice and passions, whether it was behind-the-scenes moments from photoshoots, highlights from my radio show, or red carpet interviews with celebrities. I engaged with my audience by responding to comments, sharing meaningful stories, and staying active on trending topics while remaining true to my brand. Collaborating with other creatives, tagging relevant brands and influencers, and using strategic hashtags helped expand my reach and connect with a broader audience. Over time, my dedication to producing quality content and staying engaged allowed my audience to grow organically.
For those just starting to build their social media presence, my advice is to be consistent, authentic, and patient. Find your niche, post content that reflects your passions, and engage with your audience regularly. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different formats, such as reels, stories, or live streams, to see what resonates most with your followers. Networking with other creators and tagging relevant accounts can also help increase visibility. Most importantly, remember that building a genuine and engaged audience takes time—stay true to yourself and focus on adding value to your content.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One pivotal moment in my career came when I transitioned from being a part-time entrepreneur to a full-time serial entrepreneur in 2000. At the time, I realized that if I truly wanted to achieve my goals and build something meaningful, I needed to fully commit and take a leap of faith. Another significant pivot came in 2012 when I was invited as a guest on Downtown Hott Radio and eventually became the host of The Real RAPP Radio Show. That opportunity shifted my career trajectory, opening doors to media, broadcasting, photojournalism, and eventually acting. In 2013, I took on my first acting role in a stage play, which not only allowed me to expand my creative portfolio but also reignited a passion for performance. Since then, I’ve embraced roles in stage plays, TV shows, and films, including being part of Coming 2 America alongside Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. Each pivot, whether in business, media, or acting, has taught me the importance of adaptability, trusting the process, and embracing new opportunities to grow and evolve in my career.
