Today we’d like to introduce you to Vuyo Joboda .
Hi Vuyo, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began in a beautiful city in South Africa called Cape Town. I was born and bred in this city and went to university in this city. It became a big part of the fabric of my journey into the media and entertainment industry.
It was there where I participated in various talent competitions, attended dance school, performed in theater productions, worked at TV stations as a TV presenter and began my TV producing journey. I always contribute my journey to have began in that city as it built the Vuyo that is today.
My family, who were the backbone of my journey are all in Cape Town. It would be difficult to acknowledge my journey without acknowledging them for the significant role they’ve played. My mom, two brothers and grandmother were my biggest supporters throughout the journey so they are a big part of my story.
I have been on a God led journey, a lot of things I have been able to accomplish and achieve are genuinely because of Gods grace because it has qualified me in rooms, spaces and places that I would have never imagined being a little girl in Cape Town.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has not been smooth at all. In both my Ted Talk and in my book titled ‘21’ I share some of the struggles I encountered in the early years of my life. However when I look back and think back,In hindsight every part of the struggles have been necessary and imperative for my growth. I am a better person because of the struggles I have encountered. From poverty, rejection, sexual violence, homelessness, and the other struggles I have endured, many which I know so many people have also experienced, Those are some personal struggles that have become a treat to my purpose and Destiny, I have had to fight very hard to still maintain and keep sight of why I am here on this earth. Having God and my family along there with me every step has been so encouraging so I am grateful that I did not loose my mind, give up hope or stop because everything in me wanted to. The fact that I’m still here is evidence that there is still more for me to get and give to the world.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
