We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Von Dorjevski. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Von below.
Alright, Von thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Our mission is quite simple. To create technology in order to assess, predict, monitor and collect health data for better outcomes in the health and wellness space.
Our mission is meant to be simplistic and right to the point. The ultimate goal of the company was to save lives. We have a alerting system built into the app. If any health parameters are out of normal range. Custom alerts will be sent to anyone specified in the app.
The company was designed to have remote access as well. For an example, my father is 82 years old he hates going to the doctor, he states takes too long to get my vitals checked. With our easy to use device I have the capability to check his vitals daily. He just has to insert the device in his mouth for a few seconds and I can monitor and analyze his vital health metrics remotely from my office.
Von, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Im focused heavily on people and healthcare progression, Im a thought-leading med tech professional who has been collectively raising oral healthcare standards. As the CEO of Inguardia Health Inc – home to the patent pending, internationally acclaimed DJOR Smart Oral Device powered by AI, I brings withme an extensive 20+ year background involving (but not limited to) cross-functional leadership, innovative trend detection, sales/marketing lifecycle management, and leveraging advancing technology in such a way that is as positive as it is reformative. Im passionate about not just propelling the entire oral health landscape forward through next-level prediction, real-time analytics, and monitoring competency, but doing so all while influencing the push for ongoing healthcare revolutions that present-day communities and future generations alike can mutually benefit from.
I was born in Macedonia to a father from Beloviste and a mother from Zilce, a small village outside of Tetovo, I learned early on the innate value of perseverance and possessing a strong will and work ethic to become the change you want to see. Part of that stems from my immensely humble beginnings where toilets and hot water were considered luxuries, and part from immigrating to Canada with my parents who sought a better life with just one suitcase in each hand. With this my foundation, ultimately became the catalyst for me to use these new roots to applymy innate ambitions, altruism, and passion for growth toward the technology sector. Technology for social good is the cornerstone gateway for a positive trajectory future, a perspective lens that influenced the inception of the DJOR Smart Oral Device. To date, the DJOR Smart Oral Device is undergoing expansion into multiple countries worldwide and is renowned for its capability to analyze hundreds of different parameters in the mouth with unmatched precision, its fully customizable attributes, and real-time data collection all fostered through the powering of AI.
Prior to becoming the CEO of Inguardia Health DBA DJOR Smart Guard and spearheading all phases of the product design, development, and strategic execution, I initially began my career as the Founder and CEO of Vane Protective Gear in 2011 – a leading provider of monitoring sensors until 2019. I capitalized on my strengths involving forming executive partnerships, sales training, talent recruitment, market planning, B2B account management, and overseeing all operational/revenue aspects of the organizational pipeline. Much of my successes throughout my life and career are a result of my innovative passion, strategic aptitudes, and rich adeptness involving all areas of business, customer service, team/leadership, and product development. But more characteristically, it also comes from my motivating ambiance, competition-less motives (DBA DJOR Smart Guard utilizes the saliva, so there is no direct competition), and reputation for leading with both a moral compass and deep, human-centric intention
In addition, for leading Inguardia Health DBA DJOR Smart Guard to become one of the most revolutionizing assets in oral health care and innovation. Over the course of these successions, Overall, Im a professional who firmly believes that better business, health, and community futures start by instilling positive impacts today and understands that the most successful outcomes are the ones that stem from strong partnerships and the formation of shared value teams.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I first had the idea, everyone almost everyone, thought I was crazy or a mad scientist. . Some people stated that technology will never work. No one wants to put things in their mouth. How can you prove your theory etc. The negative feedback was over whelming. I never listened to anyone. I said to myself. How can i create a device that has no competition ? After several months of investigation and doing research, I came up with the idea to use the oral interfaces there were limited uses of the saliva and oral interfaces. I did not want to compete with apple and other skin monitoring devices, they have millions in advertising budgets, I dont have millions yet, to compete. Why would I want to compete with billion dollar companies. So I developed my own product, my own market and company with no direct competition.
If you want to start a company at first, do not listen to people. In general people don’t want you to succeed that’s just human nature. Stay focused work diligently and prove your concept.
The same people that thought my idea was terrible, now have a different opinion and outlook. Some of them asked to invest in the company. I did not need their investment. How the table turns when you stuck to your guns and didnt listen.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
To initially fund the prototype, I used my personal savings and i reached out to a few people that saw my vision. At first it was difficult to get any funding without having revenue or sales. Most investors want to see a proven cash flow coming into the company before any investment. So It was very difficult to go through early stage venture capital. But once I built the prototype and the app everything changed for the company.
My suggestion is get aligned with company’s that have plug n play , that’s where startups can pitch their products to investors over a video meet. Usually you will have three minutes to get your idea to potential investors. If there is any interest the investors will reach out to you after the meeting. I did one , I had over 21 investors that reached out to me.
So its an excellent way to get your company started.
