We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Volts Delicious a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Volts Delicious thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project we’ve worked on is the recording of our first EP – Unsavory Attire. We decided we wanted to record the EP before we had played our first live show so we would have a product when we made our debut. It was exciting because the project was growing and blossoming and we felt all the anticipation even though nobody had heard the songs yet. Having known each other throughout the years through different musical endeavors this was our first full on collaboration as a four piece.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Volts Delicious started during the isolation of the pandemic with former band mates Adam Curtiss (guitar) and Jaydon Kershner (drums). Soon there after, vocalist Breezy Ortega joined the band. Months later while in studio for the first time, Johnny Sayers (who had been hired to take photos) expressed his interest in laying down the much needed low end on bass. At this point we provide our recorded singles, “Don’t Tell Me” and “Under the Influence” as well as our full EP being released in September, merchandise you can purchase at our shows, a full length music video and of course, we are available for booking for live shows. What sets us apart is we write all our music collaboratively with the goal of having a wide variety of music and an eclectic sound. The main thing we want for our fans is for them to have a great time listening to our music!
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
The best way society can support musicians is to go out to local shows and spread the word about their music. If you like it, tell your friends!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Our biggest goal as musicians is to go on tour and play larger venues around the globe and to make music our full time career.
