We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Viviana Garcia. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Viviana below.
Alright, Viviana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?
It was back in 2018-2019 when I made my first dollar. I was always selling items. At the age of 10 my family started to own an ice cream truck; selling ice cream, candy, chips, soda, occasionally toys. I tried to sell handmade jewelries through there. As I got older, in school I would get custom orders for friendship bracelets. Years passed and around 2018-2019, I focused my works in art and design. Opened up an Etsy and posted a painting and some digital designs. My first sale was in a digital design that was to be printed for wall art. That first sale motivated me and help me realize that there is people out there that find my art as something they would like to own. decided to branch to other products. Was gifted a Cricut and started selling stickers.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into my craft very young when I would watch DIY videos on YouTube. With my experience from selling ice cream, I had an idea on how to run a small business. After going to school for culinary and art, earning my degree, I focused on the career I wanted to follow in life. Mainly selling stickers, I have started to branch into other products. Over the year I’ve been in 2 art shows, which I am proud of because it pushed me out of my comfort zone and I gain the experience of being in one.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
As I get older, the goal/ mission I created is to have my own building where others can also make art and feel free while making it as well as a place creatives can showcase their works and make a profit from it.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect as an artist is the finished piece and others viewing and appreciating it.
