Vivek, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.

Absolutely. OmMuse uniquely solves the critical challenges in the music industry around seamless collaboration, transparent ownership, and equitable benefits. Our platform allows musicians from around the world to co-create music, and thereafter mint and co-own music NFTs—which essentially also serve as ownership tables of those songs. By enabling that condition of transparency, we eliminate the need for up-and-coming artists to rely on record labels for their success.

We do this by providing a global network of musicians with a set of collaboration tools to compose music, as well as a linked platform to issue NFT smart contracts for the music. The latter allows the majority ownership to be allocated to the artists, which flips the current business model the music industry, where artists often only receive minority ownership.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I’m a practicing radiation oncologist (cancer doctor), fully educated and trained at the University of Miami. Alongside medicine, music has always been my passion. As a lifelong music enthusiast influenced by the performance culture in our city—though who admittedly can’t be a career musician—I’ve always strived to contribute to musical collaboration in my own way. I founded OmMuse to unleash that creative potential, and solve issues around fairness in the industry.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?

NFTs are the present and the future. Beyond the hype, NFTs and the blockchain technology that powers them truly have limitless use cases. Ownership of all assets is inevitably going to be tokenized as it has begun with art, homes, digital assets, and as seen on our platform—music. Adoption is becoming mainstream, as demonstrated by the auctions we’ve seen in recent months.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Our mission is to help solve the critical challenges in the music industry around seamless collaboration, transparent ownership, and equitable benefits. We provide collaborative tools for artists from around the world to create music together on our cloud-based digital audio workstation, and thereafter use our linked platform to mint and co-own music NFTs. This first part is important, as all musicians now need to collaborate globally with one another is internet access—as opposed to a historically expensive DAW and studio equipment in a single location. The second part is truly disruptive, as those NFTs confirm the shared and fractionalized ownership of the songs. With this, we are striving to provide ownership transparency in an otherwise opaque industry.
