We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Vitor Cardoso. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Vitor below.
Vitor, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
“You have an idea and decide to make a film, then the whole world is talking about it”. Said James Cameron after winning The Golden Globe Award as Best Director for Avatar in 2010. This has been in my mind since then, reverberating even more my overwhelming passion for Cinema.
Through films, we have the consent to enter people’s minds, expose a point of view and change their lives forever. Just the simple fact that the audience makes a decision on what was proposed makes Cinema one of the most powerful investigative tools of human nature.
And guess what? The understanding of what you watch is not necessarily rational. I remember when I screened my short film “Let the Sunshine In” during a class at New York Film Academy (NYC) where I studied Filmmaking, in a 4-minute film, one of my classmates was crying by the time the lights were turned on at the end of the movie. The teacher looked at her, then at me to say: “I think you made your point, right?”.
As a journalist, I’ve been to different countries, had the opportunity of interviewing important people and, therefore, have been exposed to a bit of their personalities. Through the corporate events where I work as Artist Director I’ve directed, I’ve had the chance to share emotions and feelings of all the people who were there.
Stories have always been part of my life. It all started with my mom telling me Disney 365 Bedtime Stories. After that, my own life at that moment has been upside down with the death of my mom when I was 6 years old. But my story had yet to be written, a new family was reestablished, a new mom and many other chapters were written. I moved to São Paulo in 2007 where I started my career, then to New York (2009) and when I came back to Brazil, I brought in my luggage many coats I could never wear again, and a couple dreams that came true. Fast forward, a new chapter of my life started when I moved to LA in 2017, after that I realized that instead of telling, I want to create stories! This year, 2023, that happened properly. I made two feature films in Hollywood as producer, writer and director that will be released next year on the major streaming platforms.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
To be able to transform people’s lives! Screenwriters are, per say, curious for life and have the need of showing the different paths a story can have. As a tool, we use words as pieces of a puzzle to assemble each idea, each line, each piece of dialogue. It’s impossible to see the whole figure until all the pieces are together. When it finally happens, the Film is born, the screenwriter is reborn, and the story becomes immortal!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I always go to stories that have an easy connection with the audience. That’s why family drama and plots about relationships are my 1st choice most part of the time. I always seek to portray situations that anyone could live in and somehow help the audience to see that through another perspective.
