We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Vitalii Garbulinskii . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Vitalii below.
Hi Vitalii , thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Well you see, my father filmed most of my life since I was born up until age of 6. So I think it was inevitable for me to become visual artist and fall in love with “capturing the moment”. Once I was old enough and allowed to use the camcorder, I was eager to start filming, but I didn’t know how it works. So, as I was spending days, learning the technical part of the camera, I also was attending the art school for drawing classes, which thought me such a important aspects of visual arts such as lighting, distance, color, composition and etc. I didn’t think about any of it at the time, I was just pointing my camera in the right direction, pressing REC button and having fun with it. Eventually, with more practice I started applying all of my knowledge to it, planing out the lightning situation, the composition of the shot, the theme and bunch of other stuff that goes into making a video. Practice and not being afraid to fail, that’s what makes the progress

Vitalii , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I wanted to say thank you for interviewing me and giving me a chance to share my story! Hello, I’m Vitalii and I’m a visual artist from city of Yekaterinburg, Russia. I’m based in Nashville, TN. As a visual artist my passion is to capture the moment and keep it alive forever. I love to travel and document the adventures that life brings. Since I got to “Music City” I’ve been working with local musicians helping them to bring their visual ideas to life. Working on promotional material for upcoming projects/events, music videos, live performances, studio sessions and etc. I love being involved with the project that I’m working on and hate to miss the perfect shot, that always happens when camera is off so I make sure that my camera always stays on, I always get to set early and leave when the last light goes off

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Hire more freelancers and independent artists. This would help advance their careers and expend the pool of talent in Music City. The independent visual artist will help you to expend your horizon and bring the creativity to your project

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being a visual artist gives me an opportunity to bring out the emotions and get the message across and to make things happen. Making people feel alive in a way that will last forever
