Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Virginia Novello. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Virginia , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I think I have taken risk all through my live, and the way I see risk is moving towards something that I know its the right thing for me even though the programing of society, or other people tell me otherwise. When I was 19 I moved to L.A from Guadalajara, Mexico knowing very little English just knowing it was the right city for me! It was intimidating, people usually built a career in Mexico city before moving to l.a but i just knew eve thou it was a bigger risk I had to do it. Then later in my life I realized that the roles i wanted to be cast on exploring my latinidad, they weren’t casting me on so I started write, and produce, and at that time actors weren’t really doing that and I got a lot of pushback from people within the industry ,saying I had to choose one! well I didn’t i took the risk and created a company and met other women that were like me and together we wrote a script for 7 years got it made with a big company and we all acted in it! This movie is called “SISTERS” and just premiered in LONDON We took the risk and the reward was amazing! Then in the middle of it all i was rally called to get certified as a tantric breathwork guide and the fear came again .. people aren’t going to take me seriously if i also do this ( again old programing) I took the risk, did it anyway AND realize that’s the same creative energy, really is all feeding one another and doing both rewards me so much!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am an actor, writer, producer and Tantric Breathwork guide! i have been acting since I was 13 in Mexico, I started in Theater, which will my 1st love forever. As I was getting more work on screen I wanted to study film so I went to L.A! thought As a immigrant I had many challenges I have probably have every VISA one could have, and when I decided i wanted to write and produce I created a production company. Now that company transformed into something bigger and more beautiful!
I am also a tantric breathwork guide. Which means I help women to come back to their bodies and their sexual energy. Which is the energy where we create from, where creativity gets born. The more we are connected to our bodies and energy the more we can connect to our creativity and truly live a live full of pleasure and creation
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes! telling story about women, and latinos that are not based on stereotypes, but being told by us! Telling stories that have depth and are healing! And also though coaching help heal women through all the toxic programing around their body and sexuality!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Making feel people that they are not alone! We all are human and we go though this journey sometimes feeling we are the only ones that feel this way. Through filmmaking you can tell a story where people see themselves and they don’t feel alone! And maybe they hit can help heal something!
But being a creative is also way more than create movies or art, is also about creating your live, creating experiences, creating relationships, creating a home, all of those things are part of the creative live!
