We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Vipul Bindra. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Vipul below.
Vipul, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Virtual Production is the new trend in video production and it is here to stay. Virtual Production is reducing the cost gap between small and large productions plus it is giving filmmakers new creative ways to produce content like never before. Before we had to take weeks to create sets, clients would have to travel to locations, and we would be fighting with the sun for perfect lighting all day. Now all that time is saved and the end result is better as well.
Virtual Production is still in its infancy though. There are lot of small problems and not one cohesive system. Lack of talent is also an issue. However, with time as with all new technologies, we are bound to move past these initial hurdles and solve a lot of problems our industry is facing today.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started creating videos at a young age with friends for fun, and it immediately became a passion. The storytelling, creative, and technical challenges of the art-form kept it interesting despite only having a limited budget for the hobby as a kid. My love for filmmaking never died as I got older so I decided to study Film, Journalism and Mass Communication in College. After getting my Bachelors Degree, I embarked on a career in Film, Television, and eventually Freelance Video Production. Over the years I realized that I most enjoyed creating content for businesses and getting them success through video. After all, video is the most powerful tool a business can have!
After doing this professionally for a decade, something in the back of my mind was still keeping me up at night. It bothered me that even the most amazing small businesses could never access high-end video production and marketing experts with the right skills and gear to create them the effective video content they needed. Instead, they were limited to local videographers who didn’t understand their business or have the knowledge and experience of a dozen or so specialists needed to create content that would get them results. So in 2018, I decided to bring together some of the best experts in the fields of cinematography, lighting, sound, editing, writing, research, and marketing… Creating Bindra Productions.
Our goal was simple: giving small and medium-sized businesses access to a million-dollar video marketing department with 20+ experts and the best equipment at a cost they could FINALLY afford. Over the last three years, we have helped hundreds of businesses generate millions of dollars of additional revenue by using effective video marketing.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
At the beginning of 2020, I wanted to expand the company into offering live-streaming services for businesses and their events. We made a huge investment in the people, equipment, and technologies necessary to begin offering live-streaming to businesses at a quality and price they never had access to before.
As we all know, by March, a worldwide pandemic had shut the whole world down and brought millions of businesses to the brink of bankruptcy. This caused the demand for live-streaming services to skyrocket overnight. While other video production companies were now struggling to pivot and get the necessary equipment due to demand, we were able to step-up (having rightly invested in live-streaming earlier in the year) and expand rapidly helping hundreds of businesses not only survive the pandemic, but rather thrive by creating new streams of revenue through live-streaming.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
As is the saying in business: people buy from businesses they know, like, and trust. Building those 3 pillars with a potential client is the key to securing their business and making them a repeat customer no matter the industry. We follow the same principal here at Bindra productions to grow our clientele. My entire team makes sure we do a good job all the way from beginning to end and that we make it very easy for clients to do business with us. We always over deliver. This has led us to having one of the largest referral networks throughout the country.
