We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vinny Fiorenza a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Vinny, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
I was very fortunate to grow up in an environment where I was given many opportunities to try a lot of things. I was always involved in both solo activities and team activities. My parents were very proactive in having me being engaged in different groups both in school and after school. Being a part of teams in competitive sports and beyond has given me many of the leaderships and team building skills I still use to this day. They always encouraged me to try my best and give the most to everything I do. I still practice that and it has been helpful in my professional career thus far.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the entertainment industry by a happy accident. Early on in the pandemic in 2020 I started managing music artists. This opened the door to me absorbing a lot of knowledge from books, online and on calls from all the resources I had a available to me. When I start a new discipline or enter a new subject I try to gain a s much knowledge about it as quickly as possible.
Within a few shorts years I have managed artists, actors, writers, produced music videos, short films and a feature film. The name of the film is Love and Love Not and it is available to stream on platforms like Amazon, Tubi and Vudu.
I have also put events together in both Los Angeles and NYC in the entertainment space. These include entertainment industry mixers, podcast panel events, music showcases and art gallery events.
Back in March of 2023 I released the first episode of my podcast ‘Who Is… with Vinny Fiorenza’. It is a growing show and platform. At this time we have released 40 episodes.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I enjoy reading. Some of the more recent books that I have read that have shaped my philosophy is Blue Ocean Strategy, Unreasonable Hospitality, Lincoln On Leadership and the 10X Rule. There are so many others. I enjoy reading memoirs, self-help or strategy books especially those that are in the entertainment genre.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
A rewarding part for me is providing a platform for others to grow alongside with me and to eventually outgrow me and figure out their own path. I love being able to provide opportunity for others to enhance their skills and create some new ones. Connecting people through my network that I have built has been tremendously rewarding as well.
