We recently connected with Vincenzo Martinelli and have shared our conversation below.

Vincenzo, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?

Life as a professional musician is totally awesome! It all started in Newcastle Australia.
My father, a skilled trade worker came to Australia from Italy as a young man with nothing more than the clothes on his back, a desire to start a new life & his beloved mandolin.
It was the sound of this mandolin that he would play around the house while I was a child growing, that opened my heart to music.
From a very early age, these magical sounds came to shape the person I am today.
After a lot of pestering from me, my mother bought me my first guitar & from day 1, I began playing music with my father.
The road has been long but truly beautiful & adventurous.
After performing in local bands as a young man, I eventually graduated from music school with a Masters Degree in music.
As the winner of an Italian government scholarship, I made my way to Rome, Italy to study classical guitar with Maestro Lucio Dosso at the prestigious “Centro Romano Della Gitarra”.
My travels around the world opened the door to flamenco music & so a love of rhythm based tunes followed.
The opportunity to perform on the world’s most prestigious & luxury cruise lines allowed me to shape my performances & has led to an opus of 6 highly acclaimed albums.
These are now heard all across the world.
The recording studio is one of my favorite places & as such, production in an upcoming album is now in place.
Vincenzo is featured on all the digital platforms & continues to perform across the globe.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

As a professional musician, traveling, recording, touring & rehearsing are all part of the deal. Coming from an Italian background has created opportunities to meld exotic sounds with contemporary & mainstream influences.
This has resulted in a state that is enjoyed cross-culturally & across a variety of demographics.
Besides my 2 sons, my proudest achievements include my 6 albums.
Recorded & produced over a 20 year period, the music is multi dimensional, exotic, rich in harmony & melody & moving.
This opus of work includes solo guitar, collaborations with great European artists, studio tracks & first class studio production.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the blessing of being able to make a life & a living doing something I love. Nothing beats that!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My creative journey has taught me the importance of being true to myself. And in so doing, being true to my audience. In an age where the lines are constantly blurred & people are often misled, integrity becomes more important than ever.
The people cannot be fooled!
