Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vincent Seng. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Vincent , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most fun projects I have worked on was my first major short film. It was so special to me because I could make my first story idea come to life with a great group of friends. I had nowhere to the knowledge I have now in acting and filming/directing, but that was the fun of it! It wasn’t perfect but it was the first step in learning the craft. It was a lot of days of shoots, practicing, and late nights just to get the right shot. The confusion was huge but the learning was worth it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I got into this passion/ industry by picking up my first camera and being around like-minded individuals when I could transfer to a university. I knew I was always into making stories and entertaining people to making them laugh or feel a certain way. I started off doing vlogs and challenge videos, moving to advise and skits to finalizing in short films and skits for myself. As I feel in love with performing and making ideas in front of the camera, I fell in love with being behind it and wanting to provide photo and video work for clients to make visions come true. I am fortunate to be able to help others make production ideas come true to them as well as making content for myself with loving the craft. I wanted to take it further by taking classes with an agency to act and model. Please feel free to contact me on my social @vinnyseng for any opportunities to model and act!
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
The support and opportunities mean a lot in this community. When making videos/content, sometimes it seems like it was made for nothing with no traction, but that one comment letting us know that they loved the video, learned something, or had a laugh meant a lot. If you are interested in the field, too, don’t be afraid to collaborate and reach out, but hold to that collaboration. Plenty of times, a video needs multiple people to participate, and if one person drops or no one reaches out to help, the idea is dead. Overall make sure to help support and share with others.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The overall goal is to be in a sitcom, or drama or make skits and entertaining videos for a living. I want to be like a Ross Geller from friends and be an iconic character from a show that will be remembered to be in a couple of movies after that! Once that is established I would love to spread out in creating more feature films/ short films and making content that will keep people entertained and learn about my journey or stories.
