We were lucky to catch up with Vinceaun Minto recently and have shared our conversation below.
Vinceaun, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I am definitely happier as a creative/artist because it enables me to have limitless freedom. I am able to essentially work anytime I want while also choosing the projects that I want while constantly pushing my skills to the next level. Despite this, I can also say that I oftentimes ponder the idea of having a “regular job”. Why? It’s because I sometimes feel as though it would be less stressful and give me more time to focus on my other ambitions.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
First and foremost, I am a proud graduate of the illustrious Bowie State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Studio Art. This interest of mine began when I was 7 years old after I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Art became a huge part of my life and an essential coping method that I turned into a passion. My specialities are painting, drawing, photography, and graphic design. My two primary focuses are custom/commissioned paintings and photography. I take both of these practices basic fundamentals and apply my own unique touch to both to ensure my clients walk away with an unforgettable experience.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The freedom is the most rewarding because I am able to create as I feel.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Society can simply repost, share, and comment on our work. The more repost an artist/creative has, the more he or she expands in their field because a wider audience is becoming aware of what it is we do as artist.
