We were lucky to catch up with Viktoriia Zvaryshchuk recently and have shared our conversation below.
Viktoriia, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
That’s great question. I think that everyone who starts working for himself or already works think about how to become more successful. And I believe that the common feature of all business owners is to believe in what you are doing. Every day and every time you spend all yourselves in your business- so believe you will succeed
Viktoriia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name in Viktoriia, originally from Ukraine. I came to USA when i was 18. I know there is nothing special here, but believe me, I lived in very comfortable conditions and never worked, so for me it was leaving the comfort zone by 360 degrees. I got hard way from Chicago till New York. A lot of challenges were happened, but that’s great experience. I fall in love with New York when i came a first time, that’s totally my city and i am happy to be here. My way as esthetician started here. In the beginning it was hard to study and working as a front desk in the same time. I knew why i did that, I understood that i had no life, just work and study, every day. After I finished my classes and got license, the hardest part was getting started. This industry has many competitors, so you need to be the best specialist to get on top. I started as waxing specialist, worked for a woman who hired me without experience. So i had 2 jobs, one as a waxer and other my regular job as a front desk. It was not easy to find first customers, develop a client base. I had no days off. I started to arrange my cosmetology, invested the accumulated money in new devices, or rather all my money. Finally i started to do facial treatments.A lot of time has passed and the woman I worked for, moved to another state, leaving all her clients to me. I very grateful to her for that. I think that i am so lucky, it was the great chance to start my own business. First steps, instagram profiles, social media, ups and downs.It was scary. I understood i had no choice, I must do everything to succeed. You know, i am like my parents, I go to the goal and know what I want. My dad has his own construction business and mum is one of the main managers of the bank, so therefore I could not be otherwise. I am very grateful for their support.
My brand name is Skin health. I thought for a long time about a name that would reflect my activity. In my job i like to work with face, specially with problem skin, as acne, pigmentation or rosacea. That’s really hard to find good quality specialists in this field.So I guess the name is perfect. Also now i teach classes of sugaring and waxing, this is my new level which I like. Never stop, and always develop yourself.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
That’s good question and one of the important things in my business. First of all it’s social media. All popular social media you should be there. Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, you should be everywhere. Share posts, Reels, lifestyle stories are so important.
Then Google and Yelp, people always looking for al services in that platform first, they can take a look on a reviews and locations.
The next important thing – advertising. Everyone should recognize your brand. Advertising in Google platforms, Facebook and Instagram, journals, local press, everywhere you can.
Collaboration with influencers always gives good results.
Attend, host, or sponsor local events.
Promos, specials, discounts, loyalty cards for new customers are also good idea.

I use salon software, so after every treatment my customers receive message where they leave a review. Also next day I always asking customers how was everything after treatment.I am trying to do some special prices or giveaways from time to time. People like it
