We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Victoria Young`. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Victoria below.
Victoria, appreciate you joining us today. How has Covid changed your business model?
For many people, covid impacted their businesses in a negative way. Many people saw a decrease in business due to covid and lots of businesses weren’t able to stand. Fortunately for my salon, that wasn’t the case. I have been blessed with some really amazing clients that helped in any way possible to ensure The Hair Tour did not have to close it’s doors. My clients purchased, products, gift cards and whatever else they could think to do to be of help during the beginning of the pandemic. Once the lock down was lifted and I was able to open back up, not only did my clients return, they had spread the word to everyone they knew and business returned better than ever. I am very thankful to God and my clients for getting my business through those times and hopeful for better days in this crazy world.
Victoria, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Victoria Young and alongside my husband, I own a boutique hair salon called The Hair Tour in Alpharetta, GA. I specialize in hair extensions and color but offer an array of other services. I have two beautiful children who are the reason I work so hard to try to leave them a legacy and hopefully eliminate some of their struggles later in their lives. I am so blessed to have a great number of supporters in the Roswell and Alpharetta area and for that reason I have been featured in numerous articles for my work in the salon and in my community. The thing I love most about my work is how I get to make others feel. It’s so rewarding to me when I can put a smile on the faces of others
How’d you meet your business partner?
The Cofounder of my business is actually my husband. We met in the 7th grade at Sandy Springs Middle School. After experiencing many trials in the corporate world, I expressed to him my vision to create The Hair Tour. He saw the vision as well and we executed it together. My cofounder/husband handles most of the backend side of the business and while he doesn’t actually do hair, I couldn’t run the business without him.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe what’s helped my reputation is the mutual respect and support I’ve always shown to the people that now support me. Prior to opening the salon, I have alway encouraged and supported those around me in their endeavors so when it was my turn, it was only fitting that they did they same for me. My business was built up by love, support and people spreading the word in my community.
