We recently connected with Victoria Todd and have shared our conversation below.
Victoria, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Almost every entrepreneur we know has considered donating a portion of their sales to an organization or cause – how did you make the decision of whether to donate? We’d love to hear the backstory if you’re open to sharing the details.
So, my business stands heavily behind empowering and giving back. We have partnered with other businesses and churches to give back to the community. We recently had our Community event making 70 care packages with over 20 items in them and feeding the less fortunate at a shelter. During different seasons we host giveaways, provide makeovers, or provide groceries for people in the community with our profits. A lot of times business owners focus more on the gain versus how you can really impact another life. We believe that it extends further than beautifying a person.
There have been some life changing moments when I have clients in my chair, but the part I’m most grateful for is when I see a life change because I was able to pour back. .
Victoria, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes, my side hustle became my full time career. I actually started doing makeup and hair in a free period in high school. Once I got to Tennessee State University, I started doing makeup on those in my dorm, then other clients came. By 2015, I launched my first business “Be A Viva beauty.” I also began making custom wig units and doing custom clothing. Being apart of various organizations on campus spread the word on my business and keeping my appearance up. There are many times I’ve walked in a store and walked out with 2 new clients. I learned the power of great customer service skills, venturing into new things to expand your income, and branding. Being on a busy campus, being openly social, and embracing trial and error prepared me heavily for where I am today.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Yes. During a trying season in my life I was heavily focused on reaching my goals to leave my past life. I worked, went to school, and ran my business. I had days I only got 2 hours of sleep and it caught up with me. I crashed out and got into a car wreck. The wreck changed my life. There was so much damage I couldn’t walk anymore. During that season, prayer and faith in God healed me. I was told by multiple doctors to prepare to be that way for 6+ years, but God showed and told me that he has the final say. I was guided to rebrand into VivaVik Artistry and God told me that he will restore everything lost and fill my life with abundance through my purpose. He did just that. That same year, I planned, rebranded and restructured my business. That same year, I started back walking. I eventually launched my business and I had my first Celebrity client, first film opportunities, first fashion shows, first PR opportunities, etc. My faith in God is my greatest strength. This moment showed me that I’m stronger than any circumstance and it keeps me going.. I’m a Faith walker.
