We recently connected with Victoria Stephenson and have shared our conversation below.
Victoria , appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I came up with 4Kurves during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. Although I had always been interested in fitness, I never fully committed to my journey. During that time, I needed an outlet — something to help me protect my mental peace and lift my spirit.
I remember praying to God, asking Him to guide me and help me find something that would bring me strength and clarity. That answer was the gym.
In the gym, I found freedom. I found determination. Most importantly, I found commitment to myself — something I hadn’t truly done in a long time. Every workout became a reminder that I was showing up for me.
As a plus-size woman, I also struggled to find athleisure wear that made me feel both comfortable and stylish. Too often, I felt overlooked. I wanted clothes that fit my curves, supported my movement, and made me feel confident.
As I grew stronger — mentally, physically, and spiritually — my vision expanded. I began thinking about other women who were going through what I had experienced. Women who needed encouragement, confidence, and representation.
That’s when 4Kurves Athleisure Wear was born.
4Kurves is more than clothing. It’s a reminder that we can be curvy, confident, strong, and stylish in every space — including the gym. It’s about self-love, faith, resilience, and showing up for yourself every day.
This brand is built for women who refuse to give up on themselves.

Victoria , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
4Kurves is for women with curves to remind them to empower themselves, continue challenging their limits, and walk in confidence every day. It’s about embracing who you are at all times — in every season of life.
It truly brings me joy to see women loving their curves, honoring their beauty, and prioritizing their health. As women, we are often so focused on taking care of everyone else that we forget to take care of ourselves.
With 4Kurves, I want to encourage women to choose their health before life forces them into a difficult season. I want women to feel confident, strong, and beautiful while embracing their wellness journey.
Most importantly, I want women to look good, feel good, and be proud of themselves every step of the way.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was believing that putting myself last was a sign of strength.
For a long time, I thought being strong meant always showing up for everyone else, carrying everything on my own, and pushing through no matter how exhausted I was. I was so focused on being there for others that I ignored my own needs — mentally, emotionally, and physically.
The backstory is that I went through a very difficult season in my life where I felt overwhelmed, drained, and disconnected from myself. I didn’t realize how much I had neglected my own well-being until I reached a point where I had no choice but to slow down and reflect.
That’s when I turned to faith and fitness. I started praying for clarity and peace, and I committed to the gym as a form of healing. Showing up for myself every day taught me that self-care is not selfish — it’s necessary.
I had to unlearn the idea that rest, boundaries, and prioritizing my health made me weak. In reality, they made me stronger.
That lesson is what helped shape 4Kurves. It reminded me that when women take care of themselves first, they show up better in every area of life.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my life happened during a really difficult season. I was going through a lot emotionally and mentally, and honestly, I felt lost. I was just trying to get through each day and stay strong for everyone else, but inside, I knew something had to change.
I remember praying to God and asking Him to help me find peace and direction. I needed an outlet. That’s when I really committed to the gym. At first, it was just about clearing my mind and taking care of myself, but it slowly became something bigger.
As I started showing up for myself, I noticed how hard it was to find workout clothes that made me feel comfortable, confident, and cute as a curvy woman. A lot of times, I didn’t feel represented. That’s when it clicked for me.
I realized I could turn my healing into purpose.
That’s when I decided to pivot and start 4Kurves.
It wasn’t easy. I had to learn everything from scratch, step out on faith, and believe in myself even when I was scared and unsure. There were times I questioned myself, but I kept going because I knew God gave me this vision for a reason.
That pivot changed my life. It taught me that sometimes you have to let go of what’s comfortable and trust God to lead you into something better.
And I’m so grateful I did.
