We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Victoria Shepherd. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Victoria below.
Victoria , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Airbnb is all about taking a risk. I started off in this industry not knowing anything about it. Jumping from Ebook to Ebook , Youtube to youtube, i learned step by step then took the risk to just jump right in. Investing in something that could fail is definitely part of the risk. Luckily for me the risk turned out to be a good one. 5 years later, i’m successful in this industry and teach others to be successful in it as well.

Victoria , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Of Course , My Name Is Victoria and i’m a Airbnb Host & Mentor. I Also Own a cleaning company! I got into airbnb by starting off as a cleaner. I started getting contracts to clean airbnbs and then i started to go and do my own research searching how to start and what all i would need to be successful in this industry. It took me about a year maybe a year in a half to switch from full time cleaner of the airbnbs to hosting my own. From that point on i started teaching affordable one on one and group classes to those in my city who wanted to learn. I then transitioned to teaching 90 day mentorships. I currently have 57 active students in the program. I help My students find properties and turnkey rentals in different cities that allow airbnb. From that point on We furnish the units and list on airbnb. During this process i’m proud that my students listen and take heed to what i’m saying and execute it to become successful. I want anybody who comes to me or through me to become knowledgeable and have confidence enough to run their airbnb business on their own.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think my trustworthiness helped build my reputation. I’ve always kept my face card good in this business and it’s taken me along way. Knowing that they can trust me and learn from me is what keeps me in business. Word of mouth is my main source of marketing.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
i’ve had to learn that in business everyone isn’t your friend. Your friends are going to be your biggest downfall while you are in business. Always wanting discounts and freebies, remember you can’t pay bills through friends. They pay for Service with the big brands , they can pay for services through your small business.
