We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Victoria Osivnik. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Victoria below.
Victoria, appreciate you joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
Many women entrepreneurs feel financially unstable in their business, unsure how to set up solid financial systems….which leads them to not feel confident about taking the next steps, makes hiring decisions difficult, makes deciding which new products or services to offer confusing, and can make it challenging to get paid on time. They are spending too much time sorting out their finances instead of doing what they love. They need a trusted mentor with a deep understanding of business finances and systems so they can establish solid roots and grow.

Victoria, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve always loved numbers. It wasn’t just that math was easy for me as a child, it was that I was always looking for ways to keep my life organized and planned. Probably because life at home was neither. Keeping things in order helped me control the (many) out of control things happening there. Little did I know, I would fall in love with accounting in college and it would be a lifeboat away from a childhood where I never thought I had any opportunities, to a life full of possibility.
At first that meant corporate accounting jobs. I did my time. I dove deep into corporate financial systems and learned a lot. But after (another) day of feeling like a number rather than an employee, I knew I needed more. I was already finding a deeper connection outside of my work by volunteering as a CASA/GAL, a Court Appointed Special Advocate for neglected children navigating the judicial system locally. Now, I wanted to feel as on-purpose in my professional life as I did in my personal life. I wanted to translate my love of numbers into a tangible impact on women’s lives. To help them build a business based on solid financial roots. So, I took the leap and started my own business.
That leap changed everything. I took all of the big-picture systems from the corporate world and began helping other women entrepreneurs apply them to their small businesses. Every time I helped another woman’s impact grow, I saw my own grow as well. I finally had the stability in my life AND work that I’d always wanted…and better yet, I was helping other women have it, too.
Nowadays, I get to do what I do best: humanize corporate financial systems for small businesses, give moms (like myself) the freedom to grow a successful business built on solid roots, and collaborate with other women to spread as much positive impact in the world as possible.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
I spent 10 years in the corporate world. Eight of those years working in surveying/engineering, specifically, the oil and gas industry. Here due dates were yesterday and you’re either swamped with work or worried you are being laid off. I built amazing relationships, worked with the hardest-working women, and had my Vice President as an amazing career mentor. After switching companies and helping this VP create the foundations for an ISO 9000-certified quality management program at an international firm, I knew it was time to take my side hustle, full-time.
By this time I had been working on my business in the evenings or on the weekends. A few months earlier, during my maternity leave with my son, I logged many hours on the computer with him in my lap while learning all the accounting software I could. I was working from 6am to 9pm at night and putting in 10 hours at least on the weekends. I knew this wasn’t sustainable.
Was I confident that jumping ship was going to go smoothly? Nope!
Now one year later, I help women entrepreneurs grow their business on solid economic ground so they can expand their impact doing what they love. I get to experience different industries through my clients and watch their businesses grow.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I absolutely love to network, whether it’s a lunch with a group, or just grabbing coffee with a fellow business owner. The more I know about my community and the businesses within it, the better. I strive to resource for my community, whether someone is a client or not, my email is an open door.
