We recently connected with Victoria Lowman and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Victoria thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I have been a hairstylist for going on a decade. I have done hair in all different aspects and situations. I found my passion in one on one experiences in a private area where the guest feels and is a top priority. I had just built my first studio in May of 2020 and I was blown away at how much my guest experience elevated.
Well, it all started when I stumbled across an abandoned historical building on Broadway in Louisburg, Kansas. I can’t explain it but I had a powerful draw to it and couldn’t shake the feeling I had to get inside.
I immediately could visualize a business plan where I could offer beautiful spacious salon suites to other stylist in my area and help them see the same growth I had found.
A space that beauty professionals could run their own “salon” where they have the control to set the environment and experience for their guest.
Salon suites are plentiful in the surrounding larger cities but very limited in my area. I saw people gravitate to larger cities but I’ve always felt it’s your service and talent that attracts business, not your location.
I was field further by the desire to keep these historical bones in good shape. Restructure and extend their life.
I wasn’t looking to open a business. My career was thriving. I couldn’t have been treated better by my current salon owner.
But the calling was so strong to do something that could bring life to my hometown and success for many more artist.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am an extension artist. I focus on maintaining healthy applications to protect my clients hair and scalp and healthy coloring techniques that allow extensions to actually assist in their hair growing and thriving. I am passionate because I have struggled with hating my fine, thin hair from a young age. I had trouble finding someone who would take the time and care about preserving the little I had while achieving the look I so desperately wanted.
I wanted to extend that love of what I do into my salon. I wanted it to be a place people could slow down. Focus and listen to their clients wants and needs. While operating on their own schedule and using whatever products they felt best to help their guest.
I wanted them to have the ability to charge their worth, take a sick day, spend time with their family and be able to define their own personal definition of success.
I am most proud of how many people recognize the hard work that went into restoring this space. It makes me proud daily to get the opportunity to pour as much love into maintaining the beautiful space for my stylist as they spend investing and working on their careers

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I show up raw and authentic. I show the happy but also the hard work and tears. I try so hard to keep my posts focused only on my niche and target clientele.
Offering more than just “look at this” but how I did this. Why it’s better. How you can be educated to continue at home.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn a lot of unhealthy habits from the start of my career. “Doing it all” “more clients=more money” “you have to sacrifice your evenings and weekends to make it” “working yourself to death is the only way”
I had to learn that boundaries are healthy. Strategy, and having a plan will always take it further than simply working hard.
When you focus and train on what lights you on fire, you’ll thrive
