Victoria, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
From the very moment I realized I appreciated the foundations of art and design, my dreams began to materialize in ways I never imagined. It was only fitting that my artistic creativity would eventually guide me towards my ultimate goal: becoming an interior designer.
My journey began by refurbishing furniture and styling children’s bedrooms. Although I enjoyed styling whimsical environments for children, I knew that I possessed the capability and desire to extend my creativity into broader spaces. I was determined to share my vision with the world, demonstrating that my talent was not limited to one niche.
The turning point in my professional journey came when I launched my first major renovation project on a charming home in downtown Memphis. This was more than just a structural redesign; it was an opportunity to create a narrative through design.
Since that pivotal moment, my career has flourished beyond my expectations. I have been fortunate to curate diverse designs for residential, commercial, and even industrial properties.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I made the decision to turn my passion into a profession by embarking on a journey to become a certified interior designer.
Pursuing my certification through courses at Harvard University was a transformative experience. The rigorous curriculum deepened my understanding of the sophisticated interplay between architecture, design, and humanity.
Over the years, my journey has led me to launch an exclusive furniture line tailored specifically for my clients. This endeavor is rooted in my commitment to transforming visions into reality.
What brings me the greatest pride, however, is not just the furniture we deliver or the stylish spaces we curate, but the mentorship opportunities I have embraced along the way. I firmly believe that the future of design lies in the hands of passionate individuals who dare to dream big. By mentoring aspiring designers and business owners, I strive to impart the knowledge and experiences that can help them navigate the often-challenging path of creativity and entrepreneurship.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I developed my audience by designing events, which subsequently attracted viewers to my interior design business. I consistently present my authentic self, recognizing the significance of metrics on social media. However, I shifted my focus from quantity to quality. By upholding my brand’s integrity, I have cultivated relationships with various brands throughout the United States. Social media values the demonstration of problem-solving and adding value, and I offer effective, reasonable, and affordable design solutions.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Effective team management requires a deep understanding of human nature. I focus on leveraging my team’s strengths while also developing areas to be refined. I value the expertise of my team members and delegate responsibilities accordingly. My primary expectation is straightforward: to maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times. Consequently, my team has thrived both as a cohesive unit and as individuals. I believe that if you do what you love, it will never feel like work.
