We were lucky to catch up with Victoria Laoudis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Victoria, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Being a content creator or influencer is a risk in itself. You are putting yourself on the internet for millions to view and judge upon. I had always looked up to influencers growing up, I was fascinated by the idea of people being able to make a job out of something they love. My biggest risk was the moment I finally decided to be a content creator and take it seriously, making all my social platforms public and post freely. I prepared myself for the haters because that is life with social media but I decided to go for it and do what I love and grow a community of like minded Disney people. Now my platforms have become a safe, magical, dog friendly place for me and my followers!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I admired all different kinds of influencers before I officially became one. Once my fiancé and I went to Disney I discovered a world of Disney content creators and this is where I truly felt at home. I now create content with all kinda of brands and on my own on several social media channels. I love that I can share products, companies and my life with others of similar interests! My main focuses of content revolve around my life (my relationship & my dog), Disney, fashion and beauty.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to continue to meet more people through my platforms and hopefully one day collaborate with Disney! I love that I have made friendships through creating content and have such a positive following on all my pages. My dream collaboration would be Disney, of course with how much I love Disney it would be such a special milestone for me.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I really started to see growth once I stopped worrying about the outcome. When I ignored the haters or doubters and stopped focusing so strongly on results that’s when I really saw my following grow. I think the best thing for new creators to do is to just be as authentic as possible, be you and don’t let the negative out way the positive.
