We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Victoria Lane a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Victoria , appreciate you joining us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
It took me sometime to actually walk in my purpose! I like to refer to my businesses as my purpose, because that’s exactly what they are. I had to isolate myself from my daily habits because anxiety was kicking my butt! I had to figure out what was the root cause! I came to the conclusion that I wasn’t doing the things that I wanted to do in life. I was surviving but not actually living up to my fullest potential. I found a mentor who I looked up to and who was living the lifestyle I saw for myself. I signed up for a mentorship because I knew I needed guidance to the new lifestyle I wanted! That was my very first investment into me! I took the class. The next few months were very hard because I now knew what I needed to do, I just needed to apply it! So I did just that! I started setting a routine and creating better habits! I stopped procrastinating and literally DID the work! I came up with with business plan and executed it! The key word here is PLAN or as my coach would say pppppp! Properly Planning prevents piss poor performance! I wrote down my vision I saw it in my head and took the proper steps the on launch! Was everything thing perfect? HECK NO! It still isn’t, but I improvised and MADE it happen! This was my purpose. I knew I wouldn’t be at peace with myself until I was fully walking in it!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Victoria Arabia, I’m 28 years old. I’m from a small town in SC call Florence. I’m what you would call small town girl with big time goals! I’m a mother of two amazing little boys! They are definitely majority of my WHY. I had my oldest son when I was 17 so we literally grew up together! Life was not easy and I had to become an adult fast. I always had dreams of becoming an psychologist. I’ve always been fascinated about how the human mind works and how we can gain more control over it. I knew very young mindset was VERY important! My father was diagnosed with schizophrenia when I was only a little girl. I dreamed of healing him and any others suffering from mental health. I enrolled into school for a few semester to only drop out. I didn’t believe in myself at all at the time. After Quitting school I knew that a regular 9 to 5 wouldn’t support the lifestyle that I envisioned for me and my son. Makeup became that for me. Makeup is very therapeutic for me. I love looking good because when you look good you feel great! Makeup just enhances that feeling. I love making other women look beautiful but there was something missing. What about the woman who looked beautiful on the outside but doesn’t feel beautiful on the inside? What about the women who mentally felt hideous? What about my real purpose? How could I help heal the mind, empower and give great advice all at the same time? That is when I began to look for a mentorship to become a motivational coach. So that I can not only make you beautiful on the outside but help you feel the same if not more of that on the inside. That’s what really matters. That is why I created A Goddess First. It’s not just a brand it’s a Lifestyle! I believe this is what sets me apart from any other mua or motivational coach. I wanted to be the person I NEEDED when I was 17! That is who I became for my community. Who I’m still becoming to this very day! That is what I’m most proud of. The growth it’s self! A Goddess First is still expanding and find its way in the world.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part about it is I get to be me, authentically! Its my craft so it ALL of ME and nobody else. Yes, your allowed to have your opinion about it. But at the end of the day it doesn’t matter because it’s my craft. I make the rules.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My following is not every large at all. Most times I post 2 or 3 hour vlogs and get zero feed back. This is my my 2 year build A Goddess First and we have yet to go global or reach the amount of people that we would like. This just tells me I need to work harder!
