We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Victoria Kucera. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Victoria below.
Victoria, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope to be remembered as someone who ignited a love for creativity in others. Whether it was through the joy of learning to paint or the lasting impact of a piece of art, I believe in the power of creativity to transform lives. My goal is to leave the world a more vibrant place, not just with colorful canvases, but with a spirit of artistic expression that inspires others to create their own beauty.
I believe art is a universal language, and I hope my paintings create lasting memories and forge connections with viewers. Whether it’s the tranquility of a Southern landscape or the whimsy of a playful character, I want my art to leave a touch of color on someone’s soul, reminding them of the beauty that surrounds us.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Art runs deep in my veins. Inspired by my creative parents, I’ve been painting and creating for most of my adult life. My passion lies in capturing the beauty of the South with oils and acrylics.
For nearly 30 years, the charm of the South has captivated me. Weathered barns, vintage cars, and forgotten trucks – these are the subjects that ignite my artistic spark. But truly, anything that catches my eye has the potential to become my next painting.
Now, I’m weaving my artistic journey into Southern Roads Art Studio on Etsy. This is where you’ll find a unique blend of fine art pieces showcasing the South’s soul, alongside my whimsical side that injects a touch of playful flair.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
2002 marked a turning point in my artistic journey. After leaving Corporate America, I took a leap of faith and opened an art store in Vidalia, GA. From 2002 to 2010, that store became a vibrant hub for creativity. It nurtured lifelong friendships and fostered my own artistic growth, even more than I realized at the time.
Though the doors closed in 2010, my creative spirit never faltered. I embraced the freedom to paint anywhere, and my passion only intensified. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of sharing this love through numerous art classes, inspiring others to explore their artistic potential.
Today, my journey continues on Etsy with Southern Roads Art Studio. This platform allows me to connect with a broader audience and share my art with the world. Here’s where the story gets exciting… I recently scaled back my hours to dedicate myself fully to nurturing Southern Roads Art Studio. My dream is to watch it blossom beyond my wildest dreams, reaching art enthusiasts across the globe.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Though the doors to my art store closed in 2010, my creative spirit never faltered. However, I did have to pivot and return to Corporate America for many years. Balancing those obligations with my artistic passion wasn’t always easy. But quitting painting was never an option. Creative expression is a gift from the heart, a vital part of who I am. Without that outlet, my life feels unbalanced.
For me, art is a gift from the heART. It’s a source of joy, a way to connect with the world, and a necessity for my own well-being.
