We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Victoria Krasyuk. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Victoria below.
Hi Victoria, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I am one of top 10 Los Angeles photographers, winner of Travel International award, a member of the Russian Geographical Society, and the published author of the photo book “Travel without borders” on Amazon, along with many travel articles available on my website. My work is deeply connected to exploring the cultures of different countries, searches and finds of interesting angles, unique sensations when looking at amazing corners of nature.
I think of my content as bridges, and I am in-between, connecting the viewers with places where the images were taken, and with people and their emotions. My works represent my personal view of the world.
Being curious and creative person, I strive to travel and see the world with my own eyes. My camera was with me from my early years and over time what began as a childhood hobby turned into lifestyle.
As a cosmopolitan, a person who feels at home anywhere in the world, I strongly believe in living by the principle of personal sovereignty, embracing the values of freedom, exploration, independence, and integrity. My mission is to remind that we are the peoples of the one planet, and to show them that we actually live in a world without borders.
Through my photography and travel diaries, which have evolved into captivating magazine articles and video content, I have been able to share my experiences with a wider audience. Each facet of my creative journey complements the other, allowing me to fulfill what I believe is my purpose: to give people around the world the opportunity to admire and immerse themselves in the beauty of our planet, even without leaving their homes.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As a naturally curious and creative person, my passion for travel and photography began in my early years. From the moment I learned to read, I was captivated by National Geographic books and travel stories like Robinson Crusoe and Jules Verne. These early influences sparked a lifelong fascination with the world, its diverse cultures, and its natural wonders. My favorite TV channels have always been those dedicated to wildlife and exploration, such as National Geographic, Discovery, and My Planet—where I was honored to become a laureate of an award for a discovery in the field of travel.
With a camera always by my side, what started as a childhood hobby evolved into a lifelong journey. The idea that a single click of a button can immortalize a fleeting moment—whether it’s a person’s life or the life of our planet—fascinates me. Capturing these moments has become my way of sharing the world’s beauty with others.
My journey began with photography but has since expanded into videography, short films, and storytelling about the people and places that surround me.
For potential collaborations and followers, I want them to know that my work is driven by a deep love for what I do. If you truly love your craft, you’ll continue pursuing it even when it doesn’t immediately bring you tangible rewards. This passion eventually transforms into something more significant, and for me, it’s the opportunity to share the world’s wonders with others.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to uncover new stories, explore more places, and push the boundaries of creativity. My personal brand is built on a foundation of authenticity, exploration, and the belief that every moment, no matter how small, has the potential to tell a powerful story.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most memorable stories that illustrates my resilience occurred during my hitchhiking journey through one of the most mountainous and picturesque regions of eastern Siberia. At that time, I was 43 miles (70 km) away from the border with Mongolia and 1553 miles (2500 km) away from home.
One of the most striking moments was on the third day of the trip, when I spent 12 hours hitchhiking from Gorno-Altaisk to the remote village of Kosh-Agach, located at an altitude about of 6562 feet (2000 meters) above sea level. It was there that I saw breathtaking views that became a reward for my efforts. This is the driest and coldest place in Russia, but also the hottest and sunniest in summer. And the locals strongly advised me not to sleep in a tent because I might simply freeze outside. The streets are devoid of vegetation, making it feel like you are on another planet. The most remarkable thing about this valley is its perfectly flat surface and the towering peaks rising miles above it.
Through this trip I saw mountain ranges stretching for hundreds of miles, with great and ancient glaciers. I visited geyser lakes at the foot of the mountains. I slept in a tent in the wild under the stars. I traveled along one of the five most beautiful roads in the world.
This journey probably rewarded me with new discoveries, both natural and moral, and provided what all travelers seek on the road. If mountains could be compared to a person, I would say they resemble Vikings—powerful and incredibly brave. They demand your complete submission. Here, you experience entirely different sensations. Perhaps this is how boundaries are erased and everything unnecessary is cast aside. The mountains determine who you are—whether you can become a warrior or give up. That’s when I realized that nothing is impossible and decided to never give up.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I’m proud and excited about the impact my work has on others. Whether it’s providing inspiration, evoking emotions, or sparking meaningful conversations, knowing that my work resonates with people is incredibly fulfilling. Having the opportunity to create an idea and transform it into something real that others can see is deeply rewarding.
Another rewarding aspect is the opportunity to build and be part of a community of like-minded individuals. Collaborating with others and engaging with a supportive audience enriches my creative journey
