We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Victoria Franca a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Victoria , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents are my biggest role models. Their commitment to themselves and our family is heartwarming and has truly shaped the way I am and show up in my life. They have always shown that family is the most important thing in life and that no matter what challenges come our way, we always have each other. It’s impacted me in all areas of my life but especially my business as sometimes entrepreneurship can feel lonely. Having people in your corner that are constantly cheering you on and celebrating you is an incredible feeling.
Victoria , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and founder of Omne Wellness. I help career-driven individuals that are feeling the burden of stress, focus on their mental and physical wellness by guiding them through a bio-individual protocol.
My journey with wellness began several years ago, I have always been a health and wellness enthusiast but caught in a cycle of trial and error when it came to my own mental and physical wellness. My first jump into the wellness field was being able to work for a luxury Natural Skincare & Spa Development brand. I began learning more about natural ingredients, aromatherapy, gut health, oxidative stress, mental wellness and had several opportunities to teach others about wellness and skincare through wellness events. As my career in that field grew, so did my passion for sharing my knowledge with others.
A few years into my career, I began having severe hormone challenges, very uncomfortable stomach pains, bloating, nausea, adult acne and severe fatigue. That’s when I began to look for the root cause of my symptoms versus relying on treating the symptom. I then became certified as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and focused on a mind, body and soul approach to healing myself. As I was able to heal my body by figuring out the root cause of symptoms, Omne Wellness came to life.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Launching my business right before COVID-19 shut down was extremely challenging. Not only was there so much uncertainty with the world, but also with the way businesses were ran.
I had to completely focus my business model to be virtual instead of in person which ended up being a blessing in disguise. Navigating through that first year and adapting to the new way of doing business was a fun journey and I am proud of my resiliency. It taught me that adaptability is one of the best qualities to have as an entrepreneur and that truly everything happens for a reason.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Being able to connect with my clients and have them feel heard and seen. So many of my clients come to me after not being able to get to the root cause of their symptoms for years and they feel defeated and many feel ignored by their doctors, family and friends. It’s important they know they have a safe space and that their symptoms are real even if in traditional lab testing the results show up as “fine”, their story matters. That is why I love the work that I do, because I am able to give clients back hope on regaining their health back and being able to be there with them along the journey.
