We were lucky to catch up with Victoria Egwudobi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Victoria thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
When I decided to start my blogsite, it was very much with the intent to give someone else the opportunity to have an avenue to be empowered, enlightened and inspired through my own personal experiences. As the years passed, I began to connect more with likeminded women and be a direct source to their own health, fitness, and lifestyle journey beyond what I considered to be a hobby at the time. Around year three is when I had a mindset shift of believing that I could turn this hobby into something so much more than I expected. So I decided to take a leap of faith and started pursuing my passion as a full-time job. This was a huge risk for me as I was transitioning from a normal 9-5 to fulltime entrepreneurship. It took some reassuring, intentional planning, a lot of prayer and plenty of trial-and-error before I was truly comfortable with my decision which I knew it was necessary. It was the next stage of life and eventually a life changing moment. I had given so much effort and work into multiple previous companies that were only concerned with the dollar instead of the people revolving it. I wanted to change that. I wanted to put my hard work into my own business and provide a genuine service to others in need of guidance. Now going into my fifth year, I can say it was absolutely a risk worth taking.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Absolutely not! Although I’m in the pursuit towards my master’s degree outside of fitness, it actually took me a few years within my undergrad to discover this path and when I found it, everything just felt right. Every step consistently made sense and aligned with my goals of creating a space for others like myself while furthering my educational goals in the medical field. With both avenues, my ultimate goal is to help women achieve better health. I’m passionate about it because as a young girl I was never given that space to discuss particular matters. As I grew older, I knew I wanted to provide that space for someone else so my passion for writing along with health and fitness transformed into HERLifestyle.co and it continues to grow as I step into healthcare.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe showing up authentically as myself has made a major difference in terms of my brand. Women can see my professional and personal side which is refreshing as a health coach and content creator. For a long time I actually preferred to be in the background due to my own insecurities, but once I decided to take that leap of faith, it came with presenting myself as the brand face which in return connected me with my audience on a more personal level. They can see my vulnerability, positivity, authority and learn to laugh a little. It also helped to put a face to the stories especially for people that wanted to know more about myself and the brand.
