We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Victoria Conigliari. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Victoria below.
Victoria, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Originally from Long Island, I started my photography journey when I was in high school. Always taking photos with my friends when ever we hung out. I even took a photography class in high school and learned the basics. It wasn’t until about 2 years ago I wanted to jump into photography seriously and started to capture landscape photos. From there I got involved with the photography community that had me fall into creative portraits. I have since continued to grow as a creative portrait photographer. Now located in Eastern North Carolina, I continue to get involved with the creative community by hosting photography meet ups for photographers and models of all experience types. I try to create events that are great for learning, growing portfolios, and asking questions under a stress free environment. I hope to have people become more comfortable starting out on their photography journey.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
As stated prior, I’m originally from Long Island and now located in Greenville, NC. I was not originally into taking portraits as I was more on the shy side and didn’t have interest in taking portraits. Taking photos of landscape or nature was my main focus at the time. As it turned out, I had a friend who is also a photographer with their focus being on branding, lifestyle, and wedding photography. We decided one day to have a session together where she was my model. During that fun time together I found my love for creative portraits. I found myself looking to get involved with the photography community that held local meet ups. I have met a lot of great photographers and models through that community. They were always willing to work together and answer any questions that I had. Moving down to NC, I try to continue to get involved with the creative community by hosting photography meet ups for photographers and models of all experience types. I try to create events that are great for learning, growing portfolios, and asking questions under a stress free environment. I hope to have people become more comfortable starting out on their photography journey.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
This past year has had its ups and downs. Moving and starting over can be difficult for anyone. I found myself burning myself out as I would try to keep pushing through with little to no results. I had to reevaluate myself as a creative and remind myself why I love what I do. My goal going forward is to not force my creativeness but give myself room to breath and plan out future projects. I have found since doing this my work has been more organized and thought out.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing as a creative is working with other creatives and seeing your visions come together. I know that might sound cheesy, but its so true!
