We were lucky to catch up with Victor Manley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Victor, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
One of the main things we do differently from the industry standard is adding our personalized touch to every piece. I think of it like home cooking, every article is created with love. We pay particular attention to detail to make sure the quality is above standard, at the same time every design has a deeper meaning. The VaVichi brand overall is loaded with thoughtful insights and wisdom to help us navigate this journey we call life.
Victor, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well, my name is Victor Manley; I am the visionary and lead designer of the VaVichi Clothiers brand, which was officially founded in 2017 in North Carolina, but the story goes back close to 13 years. We started out of college in the Entertainment industry where we gained a wealth of knowledge about business management in general, as well as the valued connections that we were able to maintain after years of networking around the US and the World.
At the same time, we ran our business independently, so we were hands-on with all the processes and day-to-day operations involved including manufacturing merchandise. In 2014 we opened our 1st Production Studio Constellation Imagery & Marketing Solutions (CIMS Creative Studio) which produced everything from professional photography to custom merchandise. Patrons fell in love with our unique designs and the quality that our team was able to produce. This is where the main focus shifted, and we began to really zero in on the fashion manufacturing aspect. From there, with the help of the lord, the ideas flourished, along with the mastery of techniques, and the official VaVichi Clothiers Line was born. From the beginning, we have continued to raise our level of skill, craftsmanship, and consciousness, until finally perfecting the business side enough to take our product to the global market where we are today. The response has been phenomenal, and the brand is evolving every day.
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
I can remember a few years ago, we got our first large order from abroad, for a major Italian boutique we were excited. The only issue was we weren’t really ready to take on such a large shipment especially not abroad! We were scrambling to get supplies together to get the order fulfilled, it was tough with the turnaround time but we got it done with the help of the lord. In the process, we learned a lot. One thing was the process of shipping abroad sending items through customs, packaging the pieces properly, and learning about cost. I also learned a personal lesson from this endeavor, that our business is our business. Our success and our struggles are our own to bear, despite what you may think going in. Make sure you have your team together and keep some funds on hand so you are prepared for any unexpected occurrences that may come up.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
In 2024 having a social media presence is essential for a growing business. It’s getting harder and harder to get your products in the eyes of new customers but social media can help with that. However you can’t just rely on it as a business, mainly because of the algorithm is not forgiving to business promotions, I think the key to building a solid audience online, is getting out into the community and reaching people in real life. That way you can reconnect and keep up with each other on social media. We found that networking is key to growing your platform. It has worked well for us to this point and we continue to reach the masses a lot of time by word of mouth our network has been able to consistently grow.
