We recently connected with Victor Gonzalez Galeano and have shared our conversation below.
Victor, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear from you about what you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry and why it matters.
In my industry of personal well-being coaching, one prevalent issue in Corporate America is the tendency to overlook the holistic well-being of employees. Many organizations often prioritize traditional metrics of success, such as productivity and profitability, at the expense of the overall health and happiness of their workforce.
An anecdote that illustrates the significance of this matter involves a client who worked for a high-pressure corporate environment. The company prioritized demanding workloads and tight deadlines without considering the toll it took on employee well-being. Despite achieving short-term financial gains, the long-term consequences included burnout, increased stress levels, and a decline in overall job satisfaction. Ultimately, this led to high turnover rates and reduced productivity.
The connection to the purpose of the Personal Well-Being Coaching Center becomes evident here. By intentionally focusing on fostering the eleven dimensions of well-being, including mental, physical, and emotional health, organizations can create a workplace culture that values the integral well-being of employees. When employees feel supported in all aspects of their lives, they become more engaged, committed, and motivated. This, in turn, results in a more productive and high-performing workforce, contributing significantly to organizational success and profitability.
In essence, the well-being of employees is not just a feel-good initiative; it’s a strategic investment that pays dividends in terms of employee satisfaction, engagement, and ultimately, the bottom line. By embracing a holistic approach to well-being, Corporate America has the opportunity to build a resilient and thriving workforce that positively impacts both individuals and the organization as a whole.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My journey is a testament to the incredible resilience that can emerge from the depths of personal adversity. After a successful career path in banking, tragedy struck with the loss of my mother. The profound grief that followed led me into a deep depression, unraveling not only my professional life but also affecting my relationships and overall well-being. The storm that ensued resulted in the loss of my job, friends, and life partner.
In the face of such profound setbacks, I found myself at a crossroads. It was in this dark and challenging period that I stumbled upon the gift of coaching, a beacon of hope that would ultimately transform my life. Recognizing the importance of holistic well-being, I began rebuilding my life, drawing strength from the tools and resources I encountered along the way.
Resilience became my guiding force. Despite the setbacks and the pain, I embraced the opportunity for personal growth and healing. Through unwavering faith, I found the fuel to propel me forward, knowing that the journey wasn’t just about reclaiming my own life but about using my experience to impact others in a profound and positive way.
Now, I channel my resilience into the purpose of helping others navigate the complex terrain of home, work, and community without compromising their well-being. The tools that once lifted me from the depths of despair have become instruments of empowerment for those facing similar challenges. My story is a powerful narrative of transformation, resilience, and the profound impact of using personal pain as a catalyst for healing others.
In every coaching session, I bring not just professional expertise but a lived experience of overcoming adversity. My journey is a living testament to the belief that, even in the face of darkness, there exists the potential for incredible growth, healing, and the emergence of a purpose that goes beyond personal struggles.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that my worth and success were solely tied to external achievements and societal expectations. The backstory involves my early career in banking, where I diligently climbed the corporate ladder, achieving success but neglecting my holistic well-being. This pattern persisted until a significant life event, the loss of my mother, forced me to reevaluate my priorities.
In the aftermath, I grappled with a deep sense of loss and questioned the traditional measures of success that had driven me. Through personal reflection and the journey to holistic well-being, I unlearned the notion that external validation equated to personal fulfillment. The realization dawned that my worth wasn’t solely defined by career milestones or societal expectations. This unlearning process was transformative, allowing me to embrace a more authentic and holistic understanding of success that prioritizes well-being, purpose, and connection.
