We recently connected with Vicky Humphries and have shared our conversation below.
Vicky, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
This is my story to where I am at today. I have been on drugs (acid, X, G, Molly and cocaine most of my life). I missed out on marriage, kids and life. But that’s cool I am great now with life. There is a reason behind everything. I am here to help others like me what they are going through. I have been 8 yrs clean now from drugs. I also had domestic violence relationships. The mental part was worse than the physical. I also have PTSD, anxiety, depression and Bipolar. I learnt how to live life with all of these to the fullest and achieved. I am a photographer, vlogger, motivational speaker and model too.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I just came off drugs (cocaine) I was going thru rehab to help my drug addiction. I went to rehab 3 months 3 days a week for 3 hours. My mind was going thru changes that I didn’t understand at that time. I had an independent artist reach out to me ask if I can help promote his music his team at that time. Of course, I said yes why not. I love the music scene and wanted to learn more. So I became their promoter.
Then I left them to go in another direction I found an artist at a karaoke night performing which I loved. I became his manager. I started to learn more about the behind the scenes in music and entertainment world with other great managers, artists, magazines and radio stations. I just wanted to go further and further.
I decided after that I wanted to go further with my own career but where do I go from these great opportunities so far in my life. I had another independent artist’s manager reach out to me to ask me to help him with his artist to further her career more. I became her assistant manager. I had came in contact with some great connections in the entertainment world. We went to Las Vegas for a great event that was televised on television. So after a while we decided to go in different directions.
I study myself to learn who I am. I found the love for photography, modeling and motivation speaking. I learnt I had a world ahead of me in the entertainment scene. You can do anything that you put your mind to.
I just started my own YouTube channel: “The Best of the Best Reviews with Vicky”. I go to different restaurants, hotels, resorts and vacation spots to give the best of the best reviews. Check my channel out!
How did you build your audience on social media?
I found myself wondering on Facebook a lot trying to figure out how do I promote music, photography and YouTube channels.
I notice there are a lot of groups on Facebook that are particularly in your interest levels like music. You can promote music on all different groups.
I also figure out how to paid for a post of music or photography or YouTube channel to promote to different variety of viewers. It does worked my Facebook photography page has reached up to 1k.. My personal page has reached over 5k with over 1k followers from promoting on Facebook.
You can also promote paid posts on Instagram the same way. You can reach millions.
I also tag up to 100 friends on Facebook with a post that is public. That way it can reach their friends too if accepted as a post on their channels..
You have to be on top of your promoting. You got to keep posting to promote.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
My rewarding part is seeing how my artists had a smile on their face. They always loved my work and also help me out too both ways.
In my photography I love how the clients love my photography the creativity part of it! The smile on their face is all I need.
