Vicky Dreams, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I since I was little I loved to create and draw everywhere . After doing my carrer in Bussines I discovered that this kind of live didn’t satisfied me anymore, the stress, the hurry, always going from one place to another without doing anything with purpose… I had a breakdown and Iwent to my grand mother’s house in the countryside. There, in contac with the nature, I rediscovered the girl I used to be and I began to do sketches with old crayons… one year later I was taking a master in drawing and Illustration. Since that I have been developing my artistic career and now I have my own Bussines
Vicky Dreams, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Living in different countries has allowed me to develop my art through illustration, fashion and portraits. Absorbing the European culture of cities like Madrid and Paris has nurtured my admiration for traditional artist and influenced my work. Now I work as a full time contemporary artist with my studio based in Miami . This vibrant city has allowed me to fully express myself. In my body of work there are vivid layers of color. I am always searching for a rich palette that reflects strong personality to my feminine portraits. I use the combination of acrylic and oils, sometimes with touches of crayon and markers. My Mix media technique includes also strokes with spatula and palette knife, giving texture and volume to mycolored canvas.
I consider myself as a contemporary artist. What I seek is to combine the modern times we live with the elegance of traditional stlyle .
I do personal commissions to my customers, adapting the size, and the colors to their needings , so it would blend perfectly in their the home, office or place that is it going to be the artwork.
Since 2018 I have been studying bold and vibrant woman portraits. My pursuit began as a protect to give a voice to all kind of women . The need to honor beauty and strength of each one as a personal and unique expression of the inner soul. Feelings like freedom and love to each other are always present in my canvas through symbolism.
The most valuable experience as an artist is to see the reaction of the public to my work and to make connection with other different stories along the day.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My portraits explore the feminine personality the energy of women, and the aim is to empower women . The connection with nature is essential also that is why I usually use symbols such butterflies, representing freedom or flowers, representing blooming. Mixing modern techniques with classical drawings and rounded shapes I give the opportunity to the public to think about how the feminine roles have evolved but also need to be honored and recognized.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is to be able to share your purpose of live with other people through painting, See the reaction of the public and how it affects to their minds; how an art piece can make anyone to be more happier,. When one client says to me that my painting transmit to them good energy, is one of the most rewarding experience I could have.
