We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Vickie Gould. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Vickie below.
Vickie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
When I started the business that I have now, I transitioned from being a book coach to having online certification courses in sound and energy healing, along with an ecommmerce store. I was at a point in life that I wanted to take back my time and travel more. I had always felt called to do something in the healing space, but was scared that it wouldn’t work. However, after having fibroid surgery, I knew it was time for a change. I needed to figure out new ways of promoting to hit a larger audience, so I learned how to run ads and I had to figure out how to set up an ecommerce store. I also had to learn how to market differently for products versus coaching. I remember getting my first sales of crystal bracelets — it was so exciting to have sales coming in while I was at the movies with my husband!
Honestly, it was just one step at a time. I didn’t have a 5-year plan or some grand strategy. I just kept following the nudges – if something felt exciting or aligned, I went for it. And I think that’s been the secret sauce. It wasn’t about perfection, it was about momentum.
If I could give one piece of advice, it’s this: Don’t wait to have it all figured out. Start messy. You’ll learn as you go.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Vickie Gould – an 11x best-selling author, Master Herbalist, Certified Aromatherapist, Certified Sound and Energy Healer, Reiki Master, and Life and Business Coach. I know, it’s a mouthful – but really, everything I do comes down to one core mission: helping people heal, grow, and step into their power.
I started out as a book coach, helping entrepreneurs share their stories and become best-selling authors. But from my battle with Chronic Lyme Disease and later facing fibroid surgery, I felt a pull to shift gears and focus more on holistic healing. Going through Lyme pushed me to explore alternative therapies, and I’d always been fascinated by frequencies, energy work and sound healing.
That’s when I launched Life Changing Energy, which now certifies sound and energy healers and offers online courses, products, and tools for wellness practitioners, yogis, and anyone drawn to healing. Alongside that, we run a eCommerce store that features sound healing instruments, crystals, and other spiritual tools. I love that we’re not just selling “things” – we’re giving people the tools to facilitate transformation in themselves and others.
One of the things I’m most proud of is that Life Changing Energy recently ranked #133 in the nation on the Inc 5000 list, #3 in Michigan and #4 in education. It’s wild to think about how far we’ve come, but at the heart of it, it’s still me sitting at my desk, making sure people feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow their healing practice or start one from scratch.
What sets us apart? I think it’s a combination of real-world business strategy (I’ve been in the entrepreneurial game for over a decade) and deeply intuitive, heart-centered work. I get what it’s like to balance the practical with the spiritual – I live it every day. Plus, I make sure everything I teach or sell has been tried, tested, and infused with love and intention.
For those curious about working with me, whether it’s through our certification programs or products, I want you to know this – I believe healing should feel joyful, accessible, and empowering. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just start where you are, and trust the process.
And if you’re someone who’s ever felt like you’re meant for something “more” but haven’t known how to take that leap – I get it. I’ve been there. I’m proof that it’s possible to create a life and business that lights you up.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’ve always had fun making posts and videos – storytelling comes naturally to me, and I think that’s been key to growing my social media. I love marketing, and I know that if you don’t catch someone’s attention in the first few seconds, they’re gone. So, I focus on being interesting right away – whether that’s through an eye-catching graphic, a surprising hook, or just speaking directly to what people are feeling.
My best advice? Study what’s working for others. Watch people in your niche and analyze how their viral videos are structured – the pacing, the edits, the captions. Then go try it for yourself. And by try, I mean test. Marketing is just testing over and over, gathering data, and improving as you go. It’s never failure – it’s feedback.
Let others do some of the heavy lifting by testing content first, and then model (not plagiarize) their structure. The more you experiment, the better you’ll get. Just remember – it’s supposed to be fun. If you enjoy what you’re creating, your audience will feel that energy too.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
At first, I was pretty resistant to starting another Facebook group – but my clients kept asking for it, so I gave in. And honestly, it’s turned into the most nurturing and supportive space. I’ve always believed in collaboration and the idea that there’s room for everyone, and that mindset really shaped the vibe of the group. People aren’t just networking – they’re helping each other, sharing advice, and even partnering on projects.
One thing I hear all the time is that my group is one of the few that keeps providing support after certification. I stay active in there – answering questions, being real, and showing the behind-the-scenes of running the business (like packing orders). I show up as I am – messy, sometimes after I’ve exercised, in my yoga clothes – and I think that kind of authenticity makes a difference.
I also make a point to ask what they need next… and then I actually create it.
I think that transparency and genuine connection foster trust and loyalty. It’s not just about selling – it’s about building a community where people feel seen, supported, and like they’re part of something bigger.
