We were lucky to catch up with Vi Tran recently and have shared our conversation below.
Vi, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
The best thing I’ve ever done to show a customer that I appreciate them is always thanking them for getting serviced by me. I think customers like to feel grateful for their presence. Before I start a facial service, I begin by letting them know how I appreciate them for coming before I get into the service. It makes them feel special. I ensure they are comfortable and always questions if they need anything.

Vi, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Skincare has always been my passion because I didn’t always have the best skin. I always wanted answers to fix my current issues with my skin and then took it further to educate myself professionally. My clients have many different problems with their skin so I enjoy solving them and executing it. I personalize every client because not one is the same. By this, this sets me apart by treating every client special as their own. My end goal is to have each client leaving feeling relaxed but also clean and refreshed. I want to master being an all around professional and not specializing in just one part when there are many parts that needs to accomplished.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
A time I have to pivot in my careers is knowing the difference of what I love to do versus just working a job. I’ve always been in the beauty industry since I was young. During college, I wanted to try to work somewhere different. I worked in this engineering office at a desk on a computer for hours. Then I realized that setting was just not for me. I rather be in a fast paced and social environment instead of a controlled one. I enjoyed doing facials more and figured my passion remains the same.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients now a days is social media. Whether it’s a picture or a very short clip of a video it’s definitely given me the most clients. Other than word-of-mouth, the marketing is more visual similar to that.
