Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Verroti. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Verroti, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
It happened the first time I went to a music studio, before then I was just writing and writing. I enjoyed every bit of the process, then I visited a friend at his studio, that was in 2013, then he let me freestyle on a beat, he loved it and actually produced a song for me, that was when I knew this is what I want to do, and it’s been going great so far, learning and growing. It’s crazy really.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was born in the eastern part of Nigeria, Onitsha. I grew up in a very poor neighborhood, but that didn’t affect me in any negative way, it only helped in the buildup. I’m a singer, rapper, and songwriter, I also own a clothing brand, The Veellain. I love and appreciate fashion a lot. I’m blessed to be featured in a lot of projects from music, to fashion and virtual arts. And I thank God for the people around me, my family, and my fans from all around the world, I know they ride for and with me, and I’m working hard every day not to disappoint them or myself. I have something good on the way for them as well.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Well, Social media is crazy, it can make you or break you if you don’t use it well, especially when you let the pressures that come with it override and control you. I can’t say I have a specific way I use it, I just am myself and stay true to my brand and what I represent and that alone attracts the audience I need, and I keep learning and growing with every experience, it’s been slow but worth it.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, aside from music and fashion I’m not too good at many things, these are the things I love so much and enjoy doing at any point in time. I have a goal to tour the world performing in front of my amazing fans and friends. And I also want to have a worldwide clothing line, that people will be happy to rock, It’s a long-term process, and with time we will be making every single design eco-friendly and affordable for any class or status. I have a dream of having at least one store in every major city in Africa and the rest of the world. As I said it’s a process I’ve been working on for some years now.
