Verônica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?
The most innovative decision I made in my career was to leave it behind. It might sound humorous, but that’s precisely what happened. With a background in Biomedicine and a master’s degree in Biochemistry and Immunology from the Federal University of my state, I realized that the world of laboratories and hospital routines no longer brought me satisfaction, especially after an intense period of work during the pandemic. Consequently, I chose to forgo a well-established career in the field to experience living and working in content production and creativity on the internet.
During my career in the healt area, I had the opportunity to compete for a scholarship at one of the best universities in Brazil, USP (University of São Paulo), given my background in healthcare. Initially, I considered pursuing a degree in People Management, as I was a coordinator in a large hospital with over 100 employees during the COVID-19 crisis. However, the deadline for application had already passed. It was then that I came across another course option: Digital Business. Always having an affinity for the digital world and marketing, consuming this content as a hobby, I decided to apply for the MBA scholarship, and I succeeded with a 100% scholarship, even in a highly competitive process nationwide.
It was at this moment that I realized it was a sign to genuinely change my career path. The MBA provided all the necessary support, providing me the knowledge and expertise to work in the areas where I am active. Meanwhile, still working at the hospital, people began to notice my content on social media, frequently asking if I provided such services. Recognizing this demand promptly, I decided to take the opportunity. As the projects started to accumulate, I made the definitive decision to leave Biomedicine behind and fully dedicate myself to digital marketing. Little did I know that this would mark the beginning of a great story.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I developing creative content for digital businesses, participing in strategic planning, and acting as a filmmaker. My journey into the world of real time video began in March 2023, and since then, I’ve been meticulously crafting a portfolio featuring remarkable brands. Among the noteworthy achievements, I proudly highlight collaborations with Rock in Rio, Formula 1, The Town, Lollapalooza, Primavera Sound, Itaú Bank, and many others.
Throughout this period, my constant endeavor has been to enhance the quality and creativity of each project. The diversity of brands in my portfolio not only reflects the breadth of my skills but also underscores my ability to adapt my creative vision to meet the specific needs of each client, regardless of their business.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I always have used my social media platforms as a space to creatively and unconventionally share glimpses of my life beyond the shifts as a biomedical professional. During my working days, the standard clothing was the characteristic white uniform and lab coat of the profession. On my days off, I would switch to black, openly displaying all my tattoos. I enjoyed every free moment to record my walks, creating elaborate content that captured the interest of many, often finding its way into their commercial profiles.
If I could offer a valuable piece of advice to those just starting out, it would be: don’t hesitate to create, and don’t worry about others’ opinions. Often, we postpone the pursuit of our dreams due to a lack of courage. Additionally, it’s crucial to understand that a perfect plan isn’t always a able for execution. Don’t wait for an ideal moment to start investing in what you’ve always desired, as that waiting game can turn into an illusion. There’s no perfect timing to kick off a project; just begin with the resources at your disposal.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative individual is in the ability to approach and solve problems innovatively, grounded in my perspective, influenced by my personal background and life experiences. As a creative, I can surpass conventional boundaries, exploring out-of-the-box solutions that often escape common perception.
Creativity allow me to transform challenges into opportunities, incorporating distinctive and authentic elements into my work. This expressive capacity not only provides me with a unique means of communication but also contributes to the continual evolution of my own creative identity and personal brand.
