Veronica, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later?
My business started as a hobby to give a gift to say thank you for those that supported my nonprofit Wewalkforjuan to help raise money for Autism research. My son Juan was the motivation for me to stared WristRock. Once I started giving bracelets to all my supporters,they wanted more colors and designs and asked how much I charge. I was like wait you wanna pay me to make these? They said yes of course they are beautiful and that’s how WristRock Bracelets started back in 2008,I’ve later changed my name to WristRock and Company LLC, as we have so much more to offer our customers.
Veronica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We have been in buisness since 2008 and was based in Atlanta,Ga where I was born and raised. At WristRock we make custom bracelets,necklaces, we sell hand cut leather earrings, vegan leather handbags and we also make candles and I also teach jewelry making along with selling jewelry supplies. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come with this business because it’s so many people doing what I do,but what sets me apart from them is the passion and drive behind my business is my 24 year old son Juan who has Autism, Juan is the reason WristRock exist.
Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
My business is funded via my clients. Without them I wouldn’t be able to wristrock, my customers over the years have made my business what it is today and for that I’m thankful.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building a social media audience is one of the hardest things to do in a small business. It’s so easy for big businesses to have a website and social media because it’s already a big name. Small business we have to work so much harder, We have to create, do live videos and really interact with our audience. It’s hard work.
