Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Veronica Rasicci. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Veronica, thanks for joining us today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
I have the privilege to work with a variety of different people, with amazing stories. One heartwarming story that stands out to me is this one client – a widower in her 60s. She is a kind soul, who has struggled with a variety of health issues her whole life. When I first met her, she was frail, on a variety of medications, and was a struggling with depression, BUT she was committed to her goals of improving her health. After just two months, she was amazed to learn that now had the strength to stand on her tip toes (something she lost the ability to do after multiple foot surgeries). Not only did she cry tears of joy because she was able to do something the doctors told her was not possible, she gained a newfound sense of confidence – in herself AND what her body was capable of. A couple months later, her blood panels came back better than ever & she was able to go on a lower dose of blood pressure medicine. One year later, she was able to pick up her grandchildren & carry them around! Here we are now, 3 years into our trainer/client relationship and she is still as committed as ever! She has big goals of improving her health to continue to cut back on medications, travel, & continue to prove to herself that movements she once thought she’d never be able to do again, are possible!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I became a personal trainer, and started Premier Personal Fitness because I believe everyone deserves to move with comfort in their body. I do not believe aging should be painful & uncomfortable. I believe that you can make aging work for you, not against you! When working with our clients, our main goals are always to 1. teach how to safely & effectively workout, 2. find a method of working out that they enjoy, and 3. get the clients back to doing what they love (whether that’s dancing, golfing, or even flying a plane!).
Working out is much more than trying to change the way way your body looks. Working out is a vehicle to staying healthy, creating longevity, and remaining independent for as long as possible. We want all our clients to live long lives, but we want to make sure that those years are full of good times, happy memories, and are of high quality!

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Besides for training and knowledge, I believe being an avid listener and being able to pick up on non-verbal cues are extremely important when it comes to being a successful fitness professional. Being able to listen to what our clients are saying, or even what they aren’t say, can aid in building a program that will lead to their success! Non-verbal cues are also important to one’s success in this field because we can observe and pick up on their non-verbals. Perhaps it is their mood or mindset, or maybe it’s a pain they are feeling that they don’t want, or haven’t, told us about it yet. Being able to pick up on non-verbals allows us to adjust or tweak exercises/routines to meet our clients where they’re at.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele is word of mouth. Word of mouth is single handily the best way to grow one’s business! As you may know, it takes 7 points of contact before one may buy your product or service, but if a friend or family member recommends you to someone, you are more likely to trust them right away. About 90% of our business has grown through referrals and word of mouth, and it always touches our hearts wen we receive a referral from a current or former client!
