We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Verónica Pereira. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Verónica below.
Verónica , appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I had been working in the corporate world for over 10 years when my second child was born. I returned to the job, trying to balance motherhood and work life. While my mind told me this was the right thing to do, my heart was no longer in it. After struggling with infertility for 4 years, experiencing a miscarriage, and going through fertility treatments, I had also been attending school for Holistic Nutrition. Amid all of this, my soul had shifted in ways I couldn’t explain.
I found myself back in a full-time position with part-time pay, feeling like just another number to a company that didn’t truly care. My heart longed to do something meaningful, something that could help and support women like me. So, I took a leap of faith and left my corporate job to start something new, even though I wasn’t entirely sure what it would be. But my heart knew.
That’s how Rising with V began. Initially, I thought I would focus on helping women with infertility through holistic coaching. However, this quickly evolved into something everyone thought was crazy—sound healing. Being a self-taught musician who plays guitar and drums, music is in my blood, coming from Venezuela. My husband gifted me a small Tibetan bowl, and during meditation, I asked how I could help women in our community. The answer was clear: Music, healing with sound. Sound Healing, Sound Therapy, Sound Baths. And that’s where it all started.
I got certified as a Sound Bath facilitator and let spirit guide me. I had surrendered to the power of Divine Timing once before while trying to conceive, and I knew I could do it again. I began offering sound baths in our community parks, all donation-based, simply wanting to help. I shared my locations on social media, and though sometimes no one showed up, I was there, doing what felt aligned and right, although scary. Because let’s be honest who was I to be doing this, sound healing stuff and sharing this gift.
One Sound Bath at a time, more and more people started to show up, I began to meet more women in our community—healers, mothers all with a similar mission to help heal with holistic modalities.
Verónica , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. I am a free-spirited soul, mama, and wife with a mission to create nourishing spaces for women to slow down, reset their nervous systems, and find themselves again within a community and sisterhood.
I started as an Integrative Nutritionist Coach, but during my healing journey through infertility, I realized that the power of intention was the foundation of my healing. My holistic approach goes beyond traditional coaching, which focuses on food and physical movement, to include the energy of our thoughts, memories, and the stories we tell ourselves. Everything starts with energy. The sooner we recognize that we are vibrational beings and understand the power we carry, the sooner we realize that the power that created the body can heal the body.
I create experiences and intentional healing spaces for women to slow down and reconnect with the parts of themselves they’ve been too busy to acknowledge. These opportunities allow women to feel emotions they haven’t given themselves permission to feel and to listen to what their bodies are telling them. Through my sound baths and by teaching the practices that helped me release trauma and old beliefs, I guide women to surrender to the divine. Using my intuition and gifts, I help women remember their divinity, their truth so they can come back home.
My mission is to empower women to take back their power and reconnect with their intuition through energetic self-care practices.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I first started, I had no idea what I was doing, no idea how this would unfold, my husband thought I was crazy to leave a stable “normal job” for healing with sound. I know it sounds crazy, but I knew in my heart that I wanted to create these sacred spaces for people to experience complete relaxation. So, I began by showing up at parks, sharing my events on social media and local event apps. Sometimes, no one showed up, but little by little, the word spread, and people started coming. I began with donation-based sessions, but as the weather changed, the park sessions had to end. I remember dragging my wagon full of instruments through the muddy park, trying to find a dry spot. That’s when I realized I needed a different place to hold my sound baths. Now if you’ve ever tried opening a business, getting location can get expensive so I convinced my husband to turn our garage into a home studio. At first, there was a a lot of resistance—there’s something about men and their garages—but I was on a mission. The worst that could happen was that he’d end up with a nice finished garage. So, we converted the space. Month after month, I set up, but no one came. The idea of attending an event in someone’s garage might have seemed a little sketchy, but that wasn’t going to stop me. So I kept showing up and setting up, sometimes twice a month. My husband and son even joined me a few times because they felt bad for me.
But what they didn’t know is that I was also showing up for myself and my mission, this fire inside of me. So, I persisted. I used this time to do photoshoots, I would record myself playing the bowls so I could use it for content. The time wasn’t being wasted I was determined to make the best of every time I would set up. Little by little, one person showed up, I actually remember exactly my first at home client, then maybe two or three. Many times, I wanted to give up. Who would want to do a sound bath? Who was I to be offering this? The imposter syndrome was real, but something bigger than me was guiding me, preparing me for something I couldn’t even imagine. Eventually, I sold out. Sure, I could only fit eight participants in my garage, but that was enough, I added more events, and that’s how Rising with V began to grow.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The idea that hustle and bustle was going to get me where I wanted to be was ingrained in me. It’s how our world operates—this belief that women have to embody their masculine energy to prove they’re good enough, to run a business, and to be successful. But I had a lot of unlearning to do, starting with the concept of success. Success looks different for everyone, and I had to figure out my own definition. Was my vision of success shaped by my parents and society, or did it truly reflect my own desires?
I realized that helping just one person feel good and relaxed was enough for me. I didn’t need to fill an amphitheater; I just wanted to make a difference in one person’s life. This shift in perspective from being money-driven to being heart-centered transformed the way I approached my mission.
I also learned that the business model I envisioned for Rising with V didn’t exist, so I tapped into my feminine energy and intuition to guide me. I built my business on the pillars of alignment and trust, using cycle syncing to strategize my workflow. Cycle syncing means scheduling business tasks around my menstrual cycle. As women, we need to connect with the power of our cycles. Some weeks, I was more creative, so I would schedule social media content during that time. Other weeks were better for organizing and administrative tasks. By tapping into the power of my hormones, I got the job done in a way that felt good, not forced or tedious.
Running my business became nourishing and supportive because I used the energy of my natural cycle to complete tasks. Everything began to flow. I wasn’t going to labor over this business; I was going to enjoy it and honor myself without feeling burned out.
