We were lucky to catch up with Veronica Pelayo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Veronica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have always been attracted to nature.
Always dreamed of having a cabin or a house in the middle of the woods overseeing a river or lake.
And I started this project to offer that dream to people with the same desire.
Veronica, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The opportunity to buy 15 acres of land,in the mountains, with beautiful views all around, close to a river and 10 minutes from a world class beach.
Together with my husband we decided to to buy this land and build four rustic/modern cabins so that many can enjoy our dream.
We are surrounded by a plethora of flora and fauna.
We are offering peace and quiet.
It is a great feeling to wake up to the sounds of birds and the wind blowing through the trees.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
After being a home-maker for 15 years I found myself going through a bitter divorce that left me in a bad financial position, I went back to school and procured an education in gastronomy.
There were difficult times, working and studying at the same time.
There was number of people that told me I was crazy to go back to school at my advanced age (38) but I persevered and received my diploma in gastronomy.
From there I started working and saving money, I never gave up.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I was very fortunate to meet my now husband through some friends. He had the same dream of owning land by a lake
We put our heads together and started this project that took us four years to build and is now being enjoyed by people with the same desire
