We recently connected with Veronica Marie and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronica, thanks for joining us today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
So i started this podcast over 8 years ago. It started out as a Facebook group to help me get through a very toxic relationship. I thought the group would help me heal and grow from the experience but i soon realized it wasn’t just helping me but it was also helping others. I had a woman inbox me and say after listen to an episode of my podcast she knew that she could go on and that God wasn’t finished with her yet.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello my name is Veronica Marie and I turned my Facebook group into a podcast. I was always listening to my clients experiences and giving them advice. God had already told me to do a podcast but i let fear stop me. Well pause me. The podcast is called The Road To Joy & Peace For Women. Our road to Joy and peace is an ongoing one. The podcast focuses on all things women. We create a safe space for women to say what she’s dealing with and how she feels. We have discussed marriage business depression pregnancy loneliness Faith & so much more. One of my biggest accomplishments is my S.H.E. Summer lineup. SHE stands for Sisters Healing & Evolving. We have had so many women come and enjoy our live events. The feedback as been amazing. We all have a story to tell & here we want you to feel safe to do so.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I hosted a meetup at my house and i had so many women say they were attending. I prepared for about 20 people. Well the day of the event only 3 people showed. I could have gotten discouraged and canceled everything. But i decided to go on with the event. It was as if i had 1000 of people there. I’m going to give it all i got every time. The meetup was a success.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn that I’m NOT superwoman. I don’t have to do everything. I was a single mother for years. So I’ve adopted the get it done attitude. But there came a time where i couldn’t physically do everything and I had to delegate duties. And guess what everything got done and done in a timely manner. So i realized to lean on my team beacause they can handle it.
