Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Veronica Droulia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Veronica, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career
Something I paid close attention to in graduate school was the attention to social media marketing in my curriculum. I was studying Marketing and Brand Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. The first thing I noticed was the lack of knowledge and expertise from my professors about social media marketing, which I now believe to be a generational issue. Kids no longer have to go to college to have a lucrative career. Now, all that is required is posting consistent content to their social media platforms, developing an audience, and fostering a community. There’s so much information that is gate kept in the space and in this industry, and by industry… I mean the ever-growing list of content creators, digital business owners, and digital products. Personally, I would have loved to see a younger demographic of professors in marketing at the college level. Although, I used this revelation as fuel to start my own social media consulting business, Content Confidante. When I was first starting in the content creation space, I felt so alone and uneducated about my role. I wished that there had been somebody there to hold my hand and walk me through the process. After years of developing my own personal brand, and helping others through social media management…I decided to go into coaching other aspiring influencers, business owners, and creatives full-time. Now, I’ve worked with countless women business owners, influencers, and even corporate teams on developing better social media marketing strategies. I am the most fulfilled whenever I can help women achieve a freedom lifestyle, regardless of their current situations. Sometimes they are single moms that need to make ends meet, or maybe they’re paying off student loans, or maybe they just want to travel more and see the world. I work with individuals from the ground up, but I also help the more seasoned creators fine-tune their skills. I’ve created a way to walk hand-in-hand with ambitious women who want to be seen, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Veronica, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the founder of an influencer coaching agency called Content Confidante. I started Content Confidante after building a successful influencer career of my own. After years of trial and error, figuring out the ropes, feeling lost, and wishing I had somebody to hold my hand to walk me through the process… I wanted to create a resource that educated women like the younger version of myself. Content Confidante is your ultimate business bestie when it comes to building your own personal brand, or digital business. Content Confidante is your sneaky business partner, your loyal friend, and the person who is going to hold your hand through the process of earning paid brand deals while working with your dream brands. When you sign up to work with me, you will work with me 1:1 for 6 weeks. These 6 weeks will be composed of 6, 60-minute sessions, where we meet once a week to unlock all of your digital success. As a matter of fact, I even have free 20 minute discovery calls, so we can learn more about each other and how to support one another through our own individual journeys.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I first started my business, I was all over the place. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the trial and error that I experienced early on. Something I always say to people who are struggling to start the business, the influencer career, or anything that’s going to disrupt their life for the better is: If you had everything perfectly figured out, how boring would that be? Don’t be afraid to start and don’t use perfectionism as an excuse. In 2020 when Content Confidante was born, I offered countless services… from website design, to graphic design, to social media management, all the way down to my consulting services. It led me to a stage of burnout, because I was doing too much, too soon, all at once – something one person cannot handle on their own. After a lengthy discussion with my business coach, we decided it would be best for me to focus on ONE service for ONE year and see how incredible I can build that ONE service to be. Over the past 2 years, I’ve been focusing solely on my consulting services and coaching hundreds of women on how to achieve their freedom lifestyle. I think it’s really easy to pour TOO much into your business and forget why you even started. I’m so grateful that I had accountability to remember my WHY and focus on the services that I was truly passionate about.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
There are so many ways to grow your clientele and have better lead generation. One strategy in particular that I’ve seen tons of success with is through my podcast where I talk about female entrepreneurship, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. I bring on other creatives and interview them, conduct solo episodes, and talk about my business and the services that I offer. My podcast is called Martinis + Bikinis, and it’s been an incredible outlet for growing my community. I think developing organic and authentic connections with people is truly what has helped me soar. Always remember your WHY when wanting to grow your clientele, and stay true to yourself throughout the process. Get creative with new ways to reach your audience and remember that word of mouth is still a very effective strategy. When I first started, I worked with mostly friends, or friends of friends, or even people who had been a part of my community for a while. My business has only grown bigger and stronger through their referrals and support.
